During the offseason, the New York Mets took a chance and signed right-hander Luis Severino to a one-year, $13 million contract, hoping he could recapture his old dominant form from his days with the Yankees. Good morning Mets fans!  The team announced Tuesday that Mets Starting catcher Francisco Alvarez underwent surgery to fix the injury to his UCL in his left thumb.  The recovery time is typically eight weeks, according to the team.
