Carry on!

I have a lot to do today. The A-Fib is gone, and I am no longer winded. I walked 6.3 miles yesterday just working around our house and property and trips to Lowes. It feels good to not be tired! Another busy day today, so all I will say is, “Nice Win – Hopefully, they saved some runs for today.“ … and remember: Everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) that Arte Moreno does is always wrong. Andy Pages should be an Angel! The City of Los Angeles should sue Arte for using their name on his team. What an absolute joke he is! Gavin Lux is about to break out! Down on the Farm OKC BOX – Knack is scheduled ..read more

The Dodgers have some decisions to make. Blake Treinen needs to be activated… probably today, and Walker Buehler is allegedly going to start Monday. So, at least two roster decisions loom. Both moves are obvious – Nabil Crismatt and Gus Varland will go back to OKC (or not, in the case of Crismatt, who is out of options). when Treinen and Buehler are optioned. Daniel Hudson has not been pitching well, but not horrible, either. It feels like “rust” to me! His ERA is 3.60 while his WHIP is 0.93. His rope is longer, and I think he will be fine. James Outman benefited from an inflated ABbip last se ..read more

Moving on Up
LA Dodger Talk

Every baseball season brings new hope for some players and a lack of hope for others. Some players progress, while others stay stationary, and yet others regress. Let’s look at the Dodgers systems after a little over a month and see who is who. (NOTE: These stats were compiled before last night games so they will differ slightly.) Regression Station Perhaps the poster child of regression is Diego Cartaya. I am also not impressed with Kendall Williams, Kendall George, or Jake Vogel. Standing Still Rancho Cucamonga Zyhir Hope got off to a great start, but has slid to .282 and .899 – he’s raw. He ..read more

Vargas is Coming!

For all the flack that Yamamoto has taken, here he is with a 3-1 record with a 2.01 ERA and 1.09 WHIP. Not bad for a guy who is just starting to pitch up to his capability. Knack went back to OKC so that the Dodgers could have a couple of fresh arms in the bullpen, and both Feyeriesen and Varland did their jobs last night. JP i not a strikeout pitcher, but he might be the best at getting weak contact in baseball. After missing two years, he might just be rounding into form. Landon Knack has driven up his value, and I would not be surprised to see him used in a trade. Many of you are thinking o ..read more

Straight From the Heart
LA Dodger Talk

As many of you know, I had a cardioversion in October for A-Fib. A cardioversion is a procedure used to return an abnormal heartbeat to a normal rhythm. This procedure is used when the heart is beating very fast or irregularly. Mine does not beat fast… just irregular. The cardioversion worked… for six months, and about three weeks ago, it reverted back to Atrial Fibrillation. Since that day, every day, I have been getting more and more tired. It sucks, and I get winded just walking a few short stops. I am scheduled to have an ablation at Cleveland Clinic on August 30th, but that is four d ..read more

Dispense With the Reliever Speculation
LA Dodger Talk
by Mark Timmons

The Dodger starters are 11th in MLB ERA (3.68), while the relievers are 12th (3.64). Overall, the Dodgers rank 10th in MLB Team ERA (3.66). That has prompted much speculation by fans as to the Dodgers needing to trade for bullpen help. As usual, many fans have sight but lack vision. All over the blogosphere, some Dodger fans suggest that the Dodgers need a closer as Evan Phillips is 8-8 in save opportunities, and his 0.71 ERA is not good enough. They see a shiny object and want that… “and they want it now!” Silliness is what it is. We go through this every year. Fans write ad nauseum about the ..read more

I don’t mean to make this your problem… it’s my problem, and I can solve it by just shutting down this site… which I may do… again! I don’t need this shit! I have assholes like Eric Hinterleitrer, Hondo, and Blind Joe Death (aka Original Dodgerman and about 15 other monikers) who are stalking me, and why? You will have to ask them, as their heads are so far up their asses that they are legally blind, but other than that, they are rabid dogs coming after me. I have reported this to the FBI Cybercrimes Unit, but I do not live in fear. I have a great life and I do not need this. I publish this b ..read more

Tyler Glasnow is Headed for a Cy Young
LA Dodger Talk
by Mark Timmons

Tyler Glasnow was masterful over the first six innings and appeared to lose it in the seventh inning, ultimately coming out in some kind of pain. He said the cramping was in his right calf and some in his hand. It was evidently related to dehydration. He said he’s dealt with this before but didn’t realize how humid it was going to be inside the dome today. OK – Hopefully that is all. Glasnow has a 5-1 record, 2.72 ERA, and leads MLB in IP (43) and Ks (53). He’s headed for a Cy Young. What a horse! "The fastball was probably the best it's been all year. I was just a lot more behind it, a lot ..read more

Nobody hit (much), but everybody pitched!
LA Dodger Talk

Mookie, Freddie, and Kike each had two hits. Mookie is smoking hot. Freddie is back over .300, and Kike is heating up. In his last 7 games, Kike is hitting .294 and appears to be in a platoon with Max Muncy. Pages and Outman platoon in CF, except when Pages play RF, and Lux and Rojas are in a platoon at 2B/SS. Many of you don’t like platoons and blame it on Doc when, in reality, this is what the front office wants to do. Muncy, Lux, and Outman all have trouble with LHP, so why not platoon? Teoscar is hitting .258 against LHP and .254 against RHP. James Outman is slumping… PERIOD! He is hitting ..read more

Everyone Hits, or Nobody Hits
LA Dodger Talk
by Mark Timmons

Of course, that is a generalization that is not always true, but it is true enough of the time that I am concerned. Last night, the Dodgers scored 11 runs on 20 hits. Betts and Smith had 4 hits each, while Ohtani and Pages had 3 each. Muncy and Lux had two each. It was quite an offensive explosion, but I question why. Why is it frequently feast or famine? This does not seem normal to me. Is it Robert Van Socyoc’s methods that are at the root of the problem? Should the Dodgers’ failures at situational hitting rest squarely upon his shoulders? One has to at least consider that, but you also have ..read more
