The USWNT stalwart’s inclusion is no surprise.
We know there will be Cal Bears at the Tokyo Olympics, and on Wednesday, one of them was revealed, as Alex Morgan was named to the 18-player roster for the U.S. women’s soccer team for the upcoming Olympic tournament.

Bynum was the only Bear selected in the 2021 NFL Draft
The 2021 NFL Draft didn’t hear quite as many California Golden Bears as any fan may have hoped, but that wasn’t that big of a surprise for any of those who watched the team the past few seasons. With the amount of talent they’ve produced into the league, mainly from the defensive side of the ball and in the secondary, it’s actually quite amazing they can keep producing top-notch players in such a short amount of time.
The past four seasons have produced six NFL draft picks from the defensive side of the ball and ..read more

But I’m back – what’d I miss?
You’d noticed by now that I was missing for some time. It’s been a few days, alright fine, it’s been just over four months since I’ve been here. But here I am.
After having our second child to start the year, adjusting to life with two children including our powerful two-year-old, yours truly is back in the thick of it. Oh, we also moved to a new house in that time frame as well, so just added to the chaos of the past few weeks.
With me being back now, however, I figured what better way to acclimate myself than to read through what I’ve missed over the past ..read more

Gonzaga goes for perfection.
Not since 1976 when the Indiana Hoosiers finished 32-0 has a men’s college basketball team gone undefeated.
Tonight, the Gonzaga Bulldogs aim to break that streak and end a season with a perfect record, in the process, earning their first national championship in program history. To do that, they’ll have to get past the Baylor Bears, who incidentally are also searching for their school’s first men’s basketball title.
Whatever happens tonight, history will be made. What a treat that we get to watch it.

The women’s tournament comes to a dramatic close.
The NCAA women’s tournament has been excellent yet again after a year off, with multiple dramatic finishes and just enough upsets while still maintaining a high quality of play throughout.
And today, for the first time in tournament history, two Pac-12 teams will face off for the national championship, as the no. 1 overall seed Stanford takes on no. 3 seed Arizona. The Cardinal were expected to be here, but the Wildcats had to upset no. 2 Texas A&M in the Sweet 16 and no. 1 Connecticut in ..read more

A result that will warm Bears’ hearts.
Cal women’s soccer had reason to celebrate over the weekend, after they notched a major 1-0 road win over Stanford on Saturday.
Sophomore forward Mia Fontana scored the all-important goal for the Bears, set up by Emma Westin, and the defensive effort managed to make that stand as the only goal needed in the game.

It’s time to watch the selection and fill out your brackets.
It’s the most exciting time of the year in college sports: March Madness. Yesterday the brackets were selected for the men’s NCAA basketball tournament, and today the brackets will be chosen for the women’s NCAA basketball tournament.
It’s pretty safe to say that the Cal women’s basketball team won’t be taking part in this year’s festivities, as the selection squad doesn’t normally make a habit of including one-win teams in the bracket. But even Cal fans can get excited about the ..read more

It’s almost time to fill out this year’s brackets.
We’ve almost arrived at the best time of the year: the start of the NCAA Tournament. Unfortunately, this year, the Cal men won’t be dancing after their second-round exit in the Pac-12 Tournament. At least the Bears beat Stanford in the first round!
Regardless, Selection Sunday is upon us, and with it, the announcement of the 68-team field and the draw. It’s worth noting that regions are of less importance this year since the entire tournament will be held in Indianapolis. There are certain to be some surprises ..read more
