Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson has maintained an interest in the team since his playing days, going as far as partaking in some front office and ownership duties. It’s clear that even though his playing days are long gone, Johnson still wants to see this franchise succeed and continue to win championships. In particular, Johnson has been active on social media sharing his thoughts on every game the Lakers have played this season. However, following Game 2 against the Denver Nuggets, he and the entire fanbase were shocked about how that game ended with a Jamal Murray game-winner. Follo ..read more

Darvin Ham Disagrees With Anthony Davis’ Comments About Lakers Not Knowing What They’re Doing At Times
Lakers Nation
by Matthew Valento

This is now the second postseason appearance for Los Angeles Lakers head coach Darvin Ham as he tries to replicate last season’s deep run. But, this year it started with a Western Conference Finals rematch against the defending champion Denver Nuggets, who of course swept the Lakers last year. Unfortunately, L.A. find themselves down two games to none again, and both were very winnable contests in Denver. The purple and gold got off to great starts but were simply unable to sustain and execute at a high enough level down the stretch to beat an excellent Nuggets team. In particular, during Game ..read more

Anthony Davis Discusses What Changed In Second Half Of Game 2 That Led To Lakers’ Offensive Struggles
Lakers Nation
by Ron Gutterman

The Los Angeles Lakers are obviously not where they want to be down 2-0 in their first round series against the Denver Nuggets. And they are especially unhappy that they blew a 20-point lead in Game 2 to drop to an 0-2 deficit. What’s perhaps most disheartening about the series margin is that Anthony Davis has been playing some of his best basketball, and Nikola Jokic — while still putting up incredible numbers — has been less efficient than usual. The Lakers have also already forced the Nuggets to make some crucial defensive adjustments, meaning L.A. is in fact having success despite the two ..read more

The Los Angeles Lakers are heading back home down 0-2 in their first round playoff series against the Denver Nuggets. Despite the best efforts of Anthony Davis and LeBron James, not to mention a bounce back performance from D’Angelo Russell in Game 2, the Lakers have still been unable to get over the hump and finally take down the Nuggets who have now won 10 consecutive games over L.A. Following an absolutely heartbreaking defeat in Game 2 the general attitude surrounding the Lakers was that they have to put this game behind them and move on to Game 3. There remains a belief within this team t ..read more

Lakers News: D’Angelo Russell Discusses What Went Into Bounce-Back Game 2 Performance Against Nuggets
Lakers Nation
by Corey Hansford

One of the biggest reasons the Los Angeles Lakers lost Game 1 to the Denver Nuggets was due to the off shooting night from D’Angelo Russell. The guard shot just 6-of-20 from the field and 1-of-9 from 3-point range in the 11-point loss. But Russell was determined not to have a repeat performance in Game 2 and he delivered, knocking down 7-of-11 shots from deep to finish with 23 points. Unfortunately for Russell and the Lakers, it still came in a loss as they now head back home down 2-0 to the Nuggets. When asked about his bounce back performance, Russell had a simple explanation for what happen ..read more

Austin Reaves: Lakers Must Move On To Next Game After Heartbreaking Game 2 Loss To Nuggets
Lakers Nation
by Corey Hansford

A lot was expected of Austin Reaves coming into these playoffs as the third-year guard has been tasked with defending Denver Nuggets star Jamal Murray while still needing to provide consistent offense for the Los Angeles Lakers. While Reaves has done an admirable job defensively, limiting Murray to just 37.5% shooting in the first two games of this series, it hasn’t been enough. In fact, it was Murray who capped off a huge Nuggets comeback with a buzzer-beating jumper to give the Nuggets a 2-0 series lead. Afterwards, Reaves chose not to harp on the loss, but rather focus on what the Lakers ne ..read more

Darvin Ham: Lakers Will Be Better From Game 2 Buzzer-Beating Loss To Nuggets
Lakers Nation
by Matthew Valento

Los Angeles Lakers head coach Darvin Ham is running out of solutions for beating the Denver Nuggets, as his team has now lost 10 straight against the defending champions. L.A. now heads home down 0-2 and blowing two great chances at stealing a game in Denver. Game 2 could very well have been the nail in the coffin as the purple and gold had a 20-point lead in the third quarter. Similar to Game 1, the offense became stagnant and unorganized, allowing the Nuggets to get back into the game. Jamal Murray, who struggled in both games shooting the ball, got going in the fourth quarter and hit the ga ..read more
