NO, Celtic do NOT face "nightmare" scenario after "remarkable" Ibrox development

Celtic fans beware, if ever there was an article written that is a total contradiction of reality, this latest “headline spinner” from Football Insider has to be it. Published yesterday, the article has the most deceptive headline you could possibly read. This really is the ultimate in clickbait garbage. How anybody clicked publish on this article with a straight face is beyond me. As usual, it’s pinned as an exclusive, with resident “football expert” Alan Hutton named as the author. The irony of all of this, is that the article, which says Celtic are facing a “nightmare scenario” was publishe ..read more

Ibrox noise rants on about "under pressure, piffle talking" Clement, "reverse coronation chicken Tavpen" and that "moral victory" against Celtic

It’s been a fairly slow news day today, with the only story of relevance the fact that the game between Dundee and the Ibrox side will go ahead this evening. Thankfully, there should be no 6 year old kids from Wales left in floods of tears this Wednesday. Being a bit bored, I decided to dip my toe in the dark side. I took a look over the fence to see what was going on over at Ibrox Noise. I was surprised to see that the blog was living up to it’s name. It was very noisy today, with it’s main story focusing on Philippe Clement’s claim that his Ibrox charges have been unlucky in recent games. Th ..read more

The Ibrox club don't have what it takes to "lay a glove" on Celtic, despite what Simon Jordan says

Two days on from the Dingwall debacle, and it’s mission “Rally the Ibrox troops” in the media. It’s still in their hands, all they have to do is come to Celtic Park and beat us on our own patch. The rest is a foregone conclusion. That’s what winning the title boils down to, according to loudmouth Simon Jordan in yesterday’s Record. Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but did they not lose to Ross County on Sunday? That did happen, didn’t it? So, it’s not inconceivable that they could also drop points at Dens Park tomorrow night, is it? Yet the media and Simon Jordan are pinning all of their title ho ..read more

Gutter rag The Sun facilitates Joey Barton's shocking criminal threats against Celtic's Greg Taylor

I had a busy morning this morning, so I’ve only really had time to sit down and do the rounds of the blogs and the Newspapers now. When there’s a dearth of interesting stories out there, I will sometimes dip my toe in the cesspit that is The Sun. I think the only reason I do it is to find ways to slag off the village idiot, and to tear apart any anti-Celtic articles. Today, I was about fillet the village idiot when I stumbled across an article about Joey Barton. It has to be read to be believed. As I went down through it, I was actually stunned at the language in it. This will tell you the dep ..read more

Too many "exclusives", and no real story. How to tell the difference between a real Celtic blogger and clickbait merchants

As Celtic bloggers, we often write about how there is a dearth of quality stories out there when it comes journalism in Scotland. In a country where there is so much newsworthy content to write about, the media chooses to ignore the juicy stuff, and instead they just paste and copy. Scotland’s current crop of journalists are nothing more than stenographers. They transcribe stories they find elsewhere, some of them even transcribe stories they find on clickbait websites. Stories which claim to be “exclusives”, but are actually nothing more than clickbait, designed to draw you in, and leave you ..read more

Tavernier's blunder against Celtic on Sunday blows apart the myth he is some kind of World class defender, and Southgate saw it too

If there is a trophy to be awarded to James Tavernier for becoming Britain’s all time top scoring defender, then it would be remiss of him to keep it. In the interests of fairness, he should present it to the Lanarkshire referees association. Because the reality is he would never have reached the number of goals he has scored in Scottish football, and British football, if it wasn’t for them. That is a simple fact. That’s the truth. In a recent article, I pointed out that Tavernier, who could really be classed as a journeyman before he came to the Ibrox side in 2015, had scored a total of 8 goa ..read more

As Celtic question the SFA about THAT penalty incident, we all know they'll get no meaningful response

Late yesterday evening, it emerged in the Daily Record, that Celtic were demanding answers from the SFA in relation to the incident that led to the Ibrox side being awarded a penalty by John Beaton. The club believes that Beaton did not get to see the full footage of the incident. In my article yesterday, I questioned whether this was an error, or whether it was deliberate. I was willing to give Nick Walsh the benefit of the doubt on it, considering how balanced his performance as VAR was outside that incident. But let’s get real here. Everybody knew with Beaton in charge, that the game was n ..read more

Souness accuses Sutton of trying to influence VAR in favour of Celtic during yesterday's commentary in ridiculous rant

Graeme Souness reckons Chris Sutton was trying to influence VAR Nick Walsh with his comments about the Ibrox side’s penalty decision during yesterday’s heated encounter. In an article in today’s Daily Record, Souness makes an awful lot of assumptions about Sutton’s comments which are complete speculation in my view. The first of which is the suggestion that the commentary of the game is on in the VAR room. That, to me, is an idiotic assumption to make. For a few reasons. Nick Walsh would have been communicating with John Beaton on the field of play via radio link. Therefore, he would have an e ..read more

This morning, Keith Jackson is bleating on in the Daily Record that John Beaton emerged with his “professional reputation in one piece”. Well, the first point I’d like to make is that Scottish referees are not professionals. They are amateurs. They all have day jobs, outside of refereeing professional footballers for a nice weekend lump sum when they’re selected to do so. Yes, in the Scottish game, amateurs tell the professionals what to do. And as we’re all aware, said amateurs are a protected species. Nobody, and I mean nobody, is allowed to criticise their decision making. Just ask Brendan ..read more

The financial implications of this season's league title put all the pressure on the Ibrox side, not Celtic

As this season has unfolded, it’s become blatantly clear that the Ibrox side is desperate for the finance on offer for entry into next season’s Champions League group stages. The pattern of assistance to ensure they win it, as proven by Alan Morrison of Celtic by Numbers, has ramped up substantially. The powers that be are doing everything they can to ensure Celtic do not win this title. Sunday will not decide it, but it will go a long way towards doing so. It is not the end if we lose. But it won’t be good, and it will leave us with a serious hill to climb. In reality, we aren’t the side tha ..read more
