An emphatic four-point weekend for MK Lightning saw them retain their grip on top spot in the Planet Ice NIHL National Division. Lightning picked up an impressive 9-3 victory over Sheffield Steeldogs on Saturday before visiting Hull Seahawks and winning 4-1 the following day. Last weekend, in the spirit of giving and spreading joy during the festive season, Telford Tigers hosted their annual Teddy Toss weekend that not only delighted fans, but also brought comfort to local children in need. The heart-warming event, held during games against Bees IHC and Altrincham Aces, witnessed an incredible outpouring of generosity as over 250 teddy bears rained down onto the ice in flurry of furry throws. Swindon Ice Hockey Academy are delighted to be returning to home ice as of Monday 18 December. The Swindon Wildcats Ice Hockey Academy (SWIHA) is the next step on a player’s pathway after their ‘Learn to Play’ programme. We are excited to confirm the appointment of Pete Winn as the EIHA’s new coaching general manager. Pete has over 30 years experience as a coach, winning eight national championships at senior level, including a Grand Slam with the Whitley Bay Warriors, before moving into youth hockey developing regional and community programmes for several top junior clubs. The England National Team Programme (ENTP) are delighted to confirm details of a Winter Classic Mites & Mighty Mites training day at iceSheffield on 30 December 2023. Sheffield Steelkings Para Ice Hockey Club will host their traditional Christmas “Winter Blast” exhibition game on Sunday 17 December at IceSheffield. The game takes place at 3:40pm, and admission for the inter-squad friendly will be free. It remains tight at the top of the Planet Ice NIHL National Division after MK Lightning and Leeds Knights shared the spoils in their top-of-the-table double-header. Both were competitive affairs, with league leaders Lightning coming from a goal behind to defeat the Knights 4-1 on Saturday. The reverse fixture at Planet Ice Leeds also resulted in a home win as the Knights came from 3-2 down to win 6-3.
