After The Witchers disbanded at the beginning of the year, Owen “smooya” Butterfield has been seeking a new team. Even though he has not found a permanent home yet, UKCSGO can confirm he will return to the limelight at ESL Pro League Season 19 with FORZE. Since being removed from fnatic at the beginning of 2022 smooya had a short stint on Into the Breach until he made the Blast.TV Paris RMR with Benched Heros. Unfortunately, the roster could not compete at the event due to Visa Issues. The Brit powered on though and ended up standing in for OG at the BLAST Spring Showdown 2023 ..read more

This Major has been a crazy journey for lots of different teams. Pickems ruined left right and centre, but one thing remains consistent, UK CS will appear on the stage as Vitality qualifies for the PGL CS2 Major Playoffs in Copenhagen. Previously in the major, UK CS was represented by Sebastian “volt” Maloș and Ashley “ash” Battye on GamerLegion, however, after they failed to make it out of the opening stage, eyes were turned to William “mezii” Merriman on Vitality. The reigning Major champions went straight to the Elimination Stage after going 3-1 in the Europe RMR B, only losing 1-2 to Clou ..read more

EPIC41’s winners and losers
UKCSGO
by Tom Coles

Dead simple: three winners and three losers from EPIC 41. Obviously, The Neighbours took home the title, but we’re looking a little lower down the order for this piece. Side note: we are not counting mixes for the “losers” category – we don’t think it’s fair to hold them to the same standard as proper teams. Regardless of that, pretty much all of the mixes performed within expectations. Winners Coalesce Seeded: 5th. Finished: 3rd Not a massive over-performance, but they were able to outmuscle The Last Resort (#4) consistently and took down #3 seed Rum Bumpers in a late-running Lower Bracket F ..read more

As ESL Impact Season 5 starts tonight, we could have had more UK players and a coach accompanying Mia “aiM” Cooper, but unfortunately, that was not the case. Jodie “Jodiee” Billington was first brought to many people’s attention when Into the Breach announced her as their second Pipeline player alongside James “bevve” Slinn – both players have since left. But as we grew closer to ESL Impact Season 5 qualifiers, there was hope she could qualify with orgless team Team Violet. After an unsuccessful RMR run, Thomas “Thomas” Utting will return back to the bench of Into the Breach joining Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras and Kévin “misutaaa” Rabier. In August of last year, Thomas first took a step back as he looked to focus on himself, his performance, and his approach to the game. As many people anticipated, the IGL was brought back into the roster for the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024 Europe RMR A as he held the RMR spot alongside Karol “rallen” Rodowicz and Joey “CRUC1AL” Steusel. Counter-Strike returned to Kettering for the first time in 2024 for EPIC.LAN41. You can now relive all the shouting and general antics with the photos captured by UKCSGO’s Freddie “GrimyRannarr” Pritchard. The Neighbours triumphed in an epic Grand Finals versus K10. The latter had been on the EPIC.LAN stage last October but went home empty-handed… unfortunately for them, they will have to wait another day till they lift a trophy in Kettering. However, let’s take a trip back down memory lane, looking at the highlights and lowlights, the screaming and the shouting, and smooya standing up m ..read more
