The paper “Smooth extensions for inertial manifolds of semilinear parabolic equations“, co-authored by Anna Kostianko (Zhejiang Normal University) and Sergey Zelik, has been published in Volume 17 of “Analysis and PDEs“. The paper is published open access (link here). The paper is devoted to a comprehensive study of smoothness of inertial manifolds (IMs) for abstract semilinear parabolic problems. The paper shows, under natural assumptions, that the obstacles to the existence of a C^n-smooth inertial manifold (where n is any given number) can be removed by increasing the dimension and by modif ..read more

The paper “Generative AI model shows fake news has a greater influence on elections when released at a steady pace without interruption“, authored by Dorje Brody, has been published in The Conversation (link here). It is not clear that disinformation has, to date, swung an election. But there is a strong sense that it has had a significant impact, nonetheless. To study this problem, a generative model becomes handy because it can create many histories. A generative model is a mathematical model for the root cause of an observed event, along with a guiding principle that tells you in which way ..read more
