This year’s Fete was held on the hottest August Bank Holiday on record. Duncan and Sue Keir, assisted by John and Cathi Grainger set up the Parkinson’s stall complete with a sports car and a motorbike as photo opportunities.
We made £93.70 for branch funds, which was less than last year because there were fewer attendees due to the heat.
Many thanks to Dorothy Salathiel, Sue and Hugh Brown who came to help on the day ..read more

On Sunday, 1 September about 50 people from our branch visited the garden of Beech House in Jordans. The garden opens as part of the National Garden Scheme which raises money for nursing and health charities, including Parkinson’s UK.
The owners, Ray and Sue Edwards, invited our branch to a private visit of their beautiful garden. Very generously, they made no charge for the visit and provided cold drinks and seating which made it easy for people to stay and chat to each other and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Beech House has a 2 acre plantsman’s garden which has been built up from scratch ..read more

Food for thought Quiz night 2019
By Cathi Grainger
It’s near the end of another year
But don’t worry, there’s nothing to fear
‘Cos this year’s quiz has been booked
And the chicken casserole is being cooked
So why not buy a ticket to take part
and enjoy an evening that’s due to start
At 7.15 on 5th October at the usual place?
We will be organising teams of eight
So there’s no need to get in state
Just bring your drinks and glasses too
Along with your brain because there’s plenty to do.
At the end of the evening you’ll have been fed and watered
And, with the opposition effectively sla ..read more

Since we started holding collections at Tesco stores in 2012, we have raised nearly £7,000 in support of local people with Parkinson’s.
Just as importantly, our collections have helped to raise awareness of the condition and of the local activities our branch offers to everyone affected by Parkinson’s in our area.
This year, we have been allocated two dates for collecting at Tesco stores:
Sunday, 29 September 2019, 10am to 4pm, at the superstore in London Road, Amersham
Friday, 18 October 2019, 9.30am to 5.30pm, at the superstore in Packhorse Road, Gerrards Cross
If you are shopping on those ..read more
