It's not quite a smartphone, but it could be a fun side project for the tinkering crowd.
Sometimes you just can't top perfection.
What Frankenstein's monster madness is this? The classic BlackBerry keyboard has a new life, with the Q20 Classic's keys getting ripped out of its 9-year-old frame and attached to a palm-sized board with a Raspberry Pi Zero and a monocrhome e-paper display. It's the creation of tech entrepreneur Eric Migicovsky — a name you may recognize from the Pebble smartwatch and the InPulse before it. And it has quite the name: Beepberry.
Now before you get excited that ..read more

The trailer for the new BLACKBERRY movie is here and it's looking the like the movie will definitely be worth watching!
My phone has been blowing up with messages since the trailer for the new BLACKBERRY movie dropped on YouTube earlier today, with CrackBerry and BlackBerry friends of old reaching out to make sure I saw it.
We've heard rumblings about this movie for a while now, and I've honestly been avoiding reading the early reviews or digging into it more out of some fear it was going to give off cringeworthy vibes and sour some of my fond memories of BlackBerry past.
Turns out I was wayy ..read more

Can a showerhead with Bluetooth and aromatherapy tablets really make that much of a difference? To find out, I got wet for science.
My sense of smell is absolutely garbage. It's actually pretty helpful in situations where a bad whiff will send others recoiling, but it has excluded me from some of the supposedly finer olfactory experiences. My dad's big on cologne, and has often tried to get me to try some, to no avail. I picked up a lemon balm at a community plant swap last summer. If I rub a leaf between my thumb and and index finger, and jam them up my nostrils, I can get the sense of "Oh ..read more

Identity theft often goes through an unexpected route: conning the carrier. Go Talk Wireless wants to stamp out SIM swap fraud at the source.
An interview with the CEO of the security-focused MVNO Go Talk.
Identity theft is not a joke. Millions of families suffer every year. And the most pernicious form attacks those of us that thought we were doing the right thing: SIM swap fraud.
For years, security experts have urged regular people to take better care of their personal information security. Simple steps like just having a different password for every account can only go so far — once some ..read more

The Department of Justice is going after Google's real business: advertising.

The suit alleges that Google has spent years engaging in monopolistic practices that not only stifled competition, but also manipulated their bidding process to increase the amount paid by advertisers. If the suit is successful, it could lead to the break-up of Google's advertising business and fu ..read more
