I can't figure out why my pcs can't ping eachother. I have set up static routing between the routers.

Hey all,
Saw a post that IKEv1 got removed and changes were made to the isakmp policy encryption method
from 16.2 to 17.9. Is this true? I cant find a single document on the matter.

Hello Everyone. I am working on replacing juniper GW(production)switches with C9500’s. Those junipers are in active standby.
My approach is pre-stage cisco switches copy configs from juniper to cisco. Here one question is juniper GWs are using vrrp for L3 vlans and on cisco i have to use hsrp. I was wondering if there is a way to avoid outage during the refresh but not sure how it will work. If i isolate juniper switches shut down standby and bring up cisco switch but then how hsrp vrrp will work? And both might become active. 2nd option is to shut both juniper switches and have outage for li ..read more

Hey all,
If you migrate IOS XE versions from something like 16.x to 17.x. and it breaks something in the config can you roll back versions safely?
Just reconfigure the boot system image to the previous bin?

I've been trying to track down an issue for weeks now and have gotten no help from Umbrella support. We have a mix of Windows 10, Windows 11, AnyConnect, Secure Client laptops that are setup as Roaming Computers in Umbrella.
The issue is random laptops will go unprotected, typically when they're outside of work networks. But I have seen it happen behind our company firewall as well. One client behind our firewall could be unprotected and 30 others are fine. https://welcome.opendns.com/ confirms they're unprotected at that time. If I restart the Umbrella service, it'll go back to protected. If ..read more

I've used Network Partitioning (NPAR) on HP ML series blades with Virtual Connect. Regular PCI network adapters that support NPAR are available for rackmount servers as well. My question is what brand or model of switch would you connect them to? I've only ever seen them on blades.

Hi, We want to upgrade our ASR920 IOS XE from 3S to 17. I know that Cisco officially supports only the upgrade from 3S to 16 and then from 16 to 17. From what I understand the upgrade Path above Is necessary due to the auto ROMmon upgrade performed by the 17: this may break the ROMmon, because there is no certainty that the initial ROMmon version (from 3S) is fully compatible with the target version (from 17).
Anyone tested the direct upgrade from 3S to 17? Any issue?
Thanks.

In summary, I manage a large fleet of CPU testing tools set up in different configurations/topologies. Each tool has around 6 catalyst 9300 switches, some have a nexus, and they are scattered around the globe.
I literally knew nothing about network engineering before I started this job, but the guy before me was the org's network expert so people assume that I am the expert now (I'm not). Anyway, I need to manage the IOS version on all these switches and have a better way to roll out new releases.
I used chatgpt to write a visual basic script that lives on a PC locally at each tool (which I c ..read more

Hey all,
ISR4331 on IOS XE 16.12, migrating to 17.9.
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/access/4400/release/xe-17-9/isr4k-rel-notes-xe-17-9.html#con_179987
The ROMMON is fine: 16.12(2r)
But the recommended CPLD version is 19040541, and my routers are on 17100927. Do i actually have to upgrade this before migrating versions? how would i know if the system messages are saying i need to upgrade?
Thanks for the help!
