I booked couple of days a meeting with the central lead of one of the CIC to ask him some career advices. We started chating about the situation (my whole team got sacked besides me as In slightly different position and have another head honcho) and he was the one that said to me clients simply don't want to work with IBM. We don't have capable people as they keep leaving for better opportunities and our solution (both software and tech don't work.) And I joked with him and said yea if I had a buisness I would not buy from Aliexpress either. Joke aside this got me thinking our solutions are r ..read more

I applied for a ServiceNow application developer position in IBM US. I received a hackerrank online assessment and they gave me 14 days to attempt it. I was preparing for the assessment and till today I still had 6 days remaining to attempt the assessment. But just now I received an email stating that they are not moving forward with my application. They rejected me even before I attempt the assessment! What could be the possible reason? submitted by /u/BarneyDexter [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Got an offer recently to start at Markham ON in the summer, but the TC was lower than expected so I asked the hiring manager whether they were flexible in terms of the budget. They said they'd get back to me in a few days but I'm nervous they might ghost me. (I also let slip that I was speaking to other organisations, not sure if this is good or bad) submitted by /u/ElWey007 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I was placed in a UTE PIP which runs until the end of month May due to low utilization. Last week I've been informed by my manager to put up a voluntary resignation from my side and she informed me that I'll be getting another three months of notice. All this happened due to lack of projects in the domain and being in bench for long. She informed me that I'll be getting three months of notice and within that time if I'm able to get into a project the resignation would be cancelled automatically. Otherwise after three months I'd be let go with two months of severance added. She also suggested ..read more

Relatively new employee (been here for a little over 3 years). Since I’ve joined, outside of usual responsibilities, I’ve been trying my best with being as proactive as possible. Including but not limited to: - Offering my help to dev teams (was a cs major in undergrad - not in a dev role, figured I could keep my skills sharp and help out some ibmers), have been on 2 projects thus far writing automation scripts and debugging/reviewing code - Creating seismic documentation and hosting/facilitating webinars - Assisting other orgs + teams on virtual workshops and content delivery - Racking up as ..read more
