After the success of our inaugural Investor Demo Day in the Spring, we were pumped to be able to host the event again at Rathbones in November and it did not disappoint! Featuring 10 businesses, all graduates of our NEF+ programme, pitching for pre-seed or seed funding rounds, the pitching standard was exceptional.  This was the perfect opportunity for our talented founders to get into conversation with established angel and early stage investors, prompting follow-up conversations helping them to raise investment, broaden their network and get advice on their startup. Launch of CFE’s latest podcast series

In Q4 this year, we kicked off a new three-part industry focused podcast series in partnership with London Metropolitan University. These events provided an opportunity for our NEF alumni and wider network to share their extensive industry expertise through lively and engaging panel discussions. Our first podcast, recorded in November, focused on the Food & Drink industry with guests  including Si Carty (NEF 2016) founder of Amino, Lou Dillon founder of Twisted Kombucha and Lucy Adams founder of Martee’s (spun out of Founders Factory). Autumn Statement 2023 – Chancellor Paints a Big Picture by Numbers Chancellor Jeremy Hunt MP was in boisterous mood delivering the Autumn Statement. The jokes were rolling along, references to colleagues on his own benches came aplenty and the messages were for the masses and not the blessed few: National Insurance tax cuts to benefit half the country, the biggest businesses incentivised to invest and millions of self-employed to see simpler and lower taxes, too.
