And here she is! Our 2020 Artist Residency – (rescheduled for completion 2022) was awarded to WhiteFeather Hunter. WhiteFeather is a Transdisciplinary Artist hailing from Canada, completing a PhD in Biological Art at SymbioticA at the University of Western Australia. Presently touched down in Boscastle on her circumnavigation of the globe, WhiteFeather is engaged in research in our collection for the work she is making. We broke the internet! We are two weeks into the summer holidays and are learning by experience that you just can’t think of everything. Our online ticketing system is too! We are releasing tickets one week at at a time, rather than the whole summer at once. Managing capacity this way protects our customers from being becoming victims of the pingdemic that is gripping countrywide, and the Museum, from having to refund more than a few days tickets in the unfortunate event we have to close because of staff shortages.  This creates unintentionally a spike in demand every week on a Thursday e ..read more

Click here to book tickets. Welcome Back! The MWM reopens on 17th May, after a closure of 18 Months. We are returning with a new gallery, and 47 never before seen items on show throughout the Museum. We are also adopting – as many UK Museums are – online booking for the first time in our 70 year history. From 17th May until the 18th June, the Museum is open from Monday to Friday only. We are delighted to announce the purchase of ‘The Witches Boat’, a pen and water colour painting by Richard. E. Clarke (1878-1954). Richard studied, and later taught, at the renowned Art School in Scarborough founded by artist, yacht designer, sailor and writer Albert Strange in the early 1900s. He gained recognition as a watercolourist and engraver, and exhibited at London galleries and at the Royal Academy, and at the Yorkshire Art Exhibition.
