Branding Photos for Brittany Conner Photo & Her Team Brittany Conner and I have been friends for a long time. I don’t even really remember the first time we met because even at that first interaction, it felt like we had already been friends for years. We have talked business ideas together, we’ve had babies at the same time, we’ve taught up-and-coming photographers together, we’ve photographed each other, and we’ve supported each other’s businesses over the years. When she asked me to do some branding photos for her team, I got so excited. Brittany and I operate very similarly when it c ..read more

Maryville Engagement Session Natalie and Wes are getting married at RT Lodge this December. When it came time for their engagement session, RT Lodge was the obvious location. Since there are also guests with overnight accommodations and dinner reservations, however, we needed to finish on the property by 5pm. So, I recommended heading over to Maryville College to finish up their Maryville engagement session. One of my favorite parts of Natalie and Wes’s engagement was photos at the bar. They sat where I had space to back up, and those ended up being some of my favorite images. The bar at RT ..read more

Wedding Planning 101: The Dip Kiss

Tips and Tricks for the Perfect Dip Kiss A common thing couples like to do for a really cute photo op is dip and kiss as they either walk back down the aisle after the ceremony or as they exit the reception. When I pose a couple for a dip and kiss during their portrait time, I tell the groom exactly how to stand, where to put his hands, what direction to lean his bride, and how not to lose his balance. Then, I tell the bride where to hold her bouquet, how high to kick her leg, and how to help her groom not lose his balance. It’s more and more common for couples to want these dip photos in mom ..read more

An Immaculate Conception Ceremony & Reception at The Mill & Mine Paige and Peter got married this past weekend at Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Downtown Knoxville. Afterwards, they celebrated with one incredible reception at The Mill & Mine. Here are some unique things Paige and Peter did on their day: They shared a first look with their pups. Okay, ‘first look’ may not be the right phrase to use here, but they brought their pups out to them. And one of my favorite wedding day puppy photos came from it. As Paige and Peter held hands, I shot ..read more

A Rainy Wednesday Wedding at Hunter Valley Farm This Wednesday wedding at Hunter Valley Farm was so sweet and precious. There was some rain, but thankfully, the Lord brought it in during all the indoor moments of the day. Of course, the outdoor ceremony had to be moved indoors, but it was still absolutely gorgeous. It sprinkled on and off from the time of the ceremony to about 1 hour before the reception ended. After that, the sun peeked out, and we had pretty golden light while Katrina and Stephen visited Stephen’s grandfather’s gravesite. It may sound like an odd thing to do on your weddin ..read more

A Spring Wedding at Ramble Creek Vineyard Caroline and Jake’s spring wedding at Ramble Creek Vineyard was absolutely stunning. The week leading up to their big day had a cold front come through, lots of rain, and just all around nasty weather. And then Saturday came and it was warmer, bright & sunny, and literally perfect. The sunset photos I got of Caroline & Jake at Ramble Creek Vineyard are some of my favorite Ramble Creek Vineyard photos I’ve ever taken. Just wait until you see them… shew… they are gorgeous. Spending the day with these two and their friends and family was serious ..read more

Sunny Sequoyah Hills Spring Engagement I had back to back engagement sessions last week that I’m totally obsessed with. I shared one yesterday, and I’m sharing Leighton and Cole’s Sequoyah Hills spring engagement session today. My oh my was this a gorgeous session. I don’t shoot Sequoyah Hills spring engagement sessions super often. But every time I do, I find new reasons to fall in love with this location. I find new spots I love, and the photos just get better and better. The surprising yet amazing spot at Leighton and Cole’s session was on the mud where the water was down. We wouldn’t hav ..read more

Downtown Knoxville Engagement You’ll notice more blurry photos than usual as you look through these urban engagement photos. This is because at the beginning of our time together, Emmy told me she really loves blurry photos. While I will always incorporate a few of those into your session, if you let me know you definitely want more/less of them, I can totally accommodate. Things like more blurry photos or more candid style photos. More landscape/portrait photos or more black and white photos. Those are all things you can ask of your photographer. Most will happily shift to capture more of t ..read more

An Engagement Session on the Lake I met Taylor and Andrew at The Cove at Concord Park to kick off their engagement session. Now that the blooms are slowly trickling into the different areas of Knoxville, I got there a little early to scout out if we would have any fresh florals to shoot with. While there weren’t any colors or flowering trees, there was greenery we used to bring life into their photos. I was still on the hunt for those pretty spring blooms though. Instead of sticking to The Cove for their entire session, I asked if they wanted to go to Admiral Park. They agreed, and about hal ..read more
