The San Jose Sharks have fired Head Coach David Quinn. Just a few days after General Manager Mike Grier told the media he had not made a decision on the coaching staff yet, he made a move. “After going through our end of the season process of internal meetings and evaluating where our team is at and where we want our group to go, we have made the difficult decision to make a change at the…

There are no playoffs this year for the San Jose Sharks, but today is the anniversary of some postseason magic for Team Teal. Five years ago today, the Sharks skated into SAP Center and pulled off one of the most amazing and miraculous wins in playoff history. That’s right, we’re talking about the overtime victory over the Vegas Golden Knights. Fear the Fin was here with you for that game.

The chorus of The Clash’s “Should I Stay or Should I Go” keeps running through my head as I write this. Specifically, the part that says, “If I go, there will be trouble. And if I stay, it will be double.” That’s how I feel about a lot of the San Jose Sharks players as we head into free agency. Make no mistake—this was one of the worst seasons in Sharks’ history, and it feels like somewhere…

This was a tough season for Sharks fans and that 5-1 loss to the Calgary Flames in game 82 certainly didn’t help. The loss kept the Sharks just below that 20-win mark, a number that didn’t mean much in the grand scheme of things, but somehow felt like a moral victory. That said, in spite of all the losses, the mission of this season was accomplished. The Sharks put the team in the best…

We made it Sharks fans! Game 82 of the season and we’re still standing. We’re still here. This is a meaningless game with no playoff implications or, in the case of the Sharks, no draft implications either. Win or lose, the Sharks are locked into the 32nd spot in the league. That’s right, all that hard work paid off! Of course, players are playing for their jobs and some personal milestones.

Last night’s game between the San Jose Sharks and Edmonton Oilers looked more like a scrimmage to help the Oilers prepare for the playoffs than an actual NHL game. The Sharks made plenty of errors and Edmonton seemed to capitalize on each and every one of them. What resulted was a 9-2 final score that could have been a lot worse. One of the biggest issues in the game was the breakdown of…

With Boston College losing in the NCAA Championship game, the season is over with for the Eagles. That means it’s time for top Sharks prospect Will Smith and Sharks management to make a decision. Does Smith leave college and join the Sharks, or would it be best for him to stay another year at Boston College before he jumps to the NHL? Maybe this isn’t the popular opinion, but the Sharks should...

The Minnesota Wild visit the Shark Tank tonight for the San Jose Sharks’ final home game of the season. This is the third and final meeting between these two teams this season. The Wild won the first two games, a 4-3 win on March 3 and a 3-1 win on March 28. Much like the Sharks, the Wild are testing out some younger players to see how they fare in NHL games. This will be 21-year-old Marat...

San Jose Sharks prospect Will Smith opened the scoring for Boston College on the team’s first shot. He took a feed from Ryan Leonard, waited just a split second for the University of Michigan’s Jake Barczewski to commit to the save and then lifted the puck over the sprawling goaltender for the first goal of the game. It was just 1:20 into the game. Smith threatened several times after that opening...
