Choosing a wedding venue is usually one of the first tasks on a newly engaged couples list, but it’s not easy, especially in New Orleans where there are so many gorgeous options to choose from! I’m rounding up my favorite venues we looked when planning our wedding, and a couple of others to make your search a little easier.
Capulet
Capulet in the Bywater is an old warehouse with an industrial chick vibe and a rooftop where the ceremony or reception can be held (it’s handicap accessible for older attendees). It’s also very affordable compared to other venues.

It’s the most beautiful time of year, and that means everyone is getting outside as much as they can. Our pups want in on the action too! We are sharing our favorite dog friendly places in New Orleans to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather without leaving the pups behind.
Barracuda
Barracuda is at the top of my list as always. They have the best tacos and margs in town, an amazing happy hour and a super cute outdoor garden with tons of seating for friends and pups! Douille loves hanging out and crunching on tortilla chips under the table.

It’s been a while since I’ve updated our favorite places to happy hour in New Orleans. Happy hour always has a special place in my heart, but in today’s economy, it’s even more sacred. With our ever changing bar and restaurant scene, there are always new adds to this list and of course old faves that remain!

It’s been a little more than three months since Devin and I had our dream New Orleans wedding. Between working, taking our honeymoon and buying a house, it feels like the dust is finally beginning to settle.
Although we live in New Orleans in the Irish Channel, all of our wedding festivities were in the Bywater neighborhood so it almost felt like a mini destination wedding.
Our Venue
We looked at 15 venues before finding the right fit (LOL diva much?!), but I’m so happy that we took our time because it really was absolutely perfect. The Mazant is a historic Greek Revival mansion that has been ..read more

I’m taking a page from Alessandra’s book and putting together a list of my favorite restaurants by neighborhood. Just like Ale mentioned, I have an ongoing list in my iphone notes of my favorites, and places I want to try that I am constantly sharing with friends, family and newcomers to the city. These restaurants are those that are my tried and true, but certainly some of the best are missing as there are still so many in my “need to try” section.

If having an over-the-top lunch on a Friday at Galatoire’s in New Orleans isn’t already on your bucket list, it should be. It’s well worth a half day of PTO or adding to your vacay itinerary. New Orleans is known as the greatest lunch city in the country, and the Friday lunches here certainly add a lot to that distinction. Here’s why you don’t want to miss this experience.
It’s a reason to get dressed up
Galatoire’s has always required men to wear a suit jacket and pants. Sure this may sound old-fashioned, but getting dolled up is half the fun of it. Everyone always goes the extra mile wh ..read more

Maybe you acquired a nice shoulder burn at Jazz Fest, but it’s time to hit the pools and get a summer glow on those legs.
Although we are not too far from several bodies of water, sometimes it’s difficult to get away for a beach weekend, or we don’t have friends with boats (re-evaluating our lives). If you are stuck in the city, don’t fret! There are still so many places to get your tan on. Here are a few of our favorite pools to tan with our babes.

Most people probably don’t associate New Orleans with fitness, but we need to get our work out on as much as the next babe. I don’t know if it’s the pandemic or the fact that I’m now 30, but I’ve had a hard time maintaining my weight and fitness goals for the past year or so. With that said, I’ve been trying to mix things up as much as possible. It’s way easier for me to get motivated in classes or by an instructor rather than a traditional gym so I’m sharing some of my favorite workouts I’ve found in the city.
