The Miners baseball squad killed two birds with one stone Thursday afternoon at Park City High, thrashing Stansbury 12-1 for a senior night victory and a region title. Park City was powered by a strong outing from senior Griffen Rogers and patience on offense, where they took advantage of several fielding and pitching errors from Stansbury. Rodgers threw five innings, allowing just three hits and one earned run. He came up big when needed most, closing out the mercy rule victory with two bases-loaded strikeouts. Rodgers heroics earned him a water bottle bath of sorts from his teammates, who st ..read more

Plumes of smoke drifted high over Old Town Wednesday morning as Alpine Forestry management crews started their spring-season pile burning work.
