Recent news reports have emerged that the Chinese government will destroy Atsok Gompa—another sacred Tibetan monastery—and displace over 15,555 people in the surrounding Drakkar, Kawasumdo, and Mangra counties to build another Chinese mega-dam along the Machu or “Yellow River.” China is advertising this dam in international media as a feat of engineering because it will be the world’s largest 3D-printed structure at over 590 feet tall and controlled by AI.

But they ignore the fact that this dam will destroy another sacred Tibetan site and displace thousands of Tibetans who have stewarded thi ..read more

This week, people across the world took to the streets to commemorate the 65th Tibetan National Uprising Day! The Resolve Tibet Act (H.R. 533) PASSES the U.S. House of Representatives!! After over a year of advocacy, petitions, canvassing, and lobbying meetings by SFT grassroots chapter-members and partner organizations, this landmark bill now heads to the Senate before the President can sign it into law. If this bill becomes law, it would make it official U.S. policy that the Tibetan people’s have the right to self-determination.  It would also make America’s official position to define Tibet as not just the TAR but also the historically Tibetan areas of Qinghai, Sichuan, Gansu, and Yunnan.
