My Cruise Nightmare
Cruise Everyday Blog

Okay, so the title may have been a little bit of clickbait. I’m talking about an actual dream that I had last night. Here’s how it went: My family and I were aboard a cruise ship, I have no idea which one, and we were staying in a large family suite. There were many COVID guidelines in place, and everyone had to wear a mask. I had been busted by a crew member for underage drinking, and my punishment was that I had to quarantine in our cabin until the day before debarkation. I was rather upset about this and tried calling a lawyer, but as some of you may have experienced yourselves, it was imp ..read more

Empress of the Seas Rumor is FALSE
Cruise Everyday Blog

Earlier I reported the possible rumor that Royal Caribbean had sold off Empress of the Seas to an undisclosed buyer via TradeWinds. However, this rumor has since been disproven by Matt Hochberg of Royal Caribbean Blog who reached out to Royal Caribbean himself. From Royal Caribbean Blog- “Empress of the Seas recently sailed to the Greek isles, which began fueling hearsay that she was making a last stop before being sold off, similar to Pullmantur's ships just a few weeks ago. I reached out to Royal Caribbean to get more clarification on the rumors and they flatly denied Empress has been sold ..read more

RUMOR: Empress of the Seas Sold for Scrap?
Cruise Everyday Blog

From Ship Breaking Group via Facebook Just found this posted in one of the hundreds of cruise groups that I’m in, being the avid cruise enthusiast I am. It is unofficially reported that Royal Caribbean’s Empress of the Seas has been sold to an “undisclosed” buyer in New York. Empress of the Seas was originally ordered as Future Seas for Admiral Cruises back in 1987. However, Royal Caribbean soon absorbed Admiral and renamed the ship Nordic Empress in 1990 (this was the last ship to not have “of the seas” following its name. Royal Caribbean changed the name to Empress of the Seas in a 2004 dry ..read more

No One Cares That You Cancelled Your Cruise Because of Coronavirus

There. I said it. And I know that I am not the only one that feels this way. People are treating this new strand of Coronavirus like it is the end of the world and it is ruining the cruise industry. Yes, the virus is out there. I’m not saying that it’s not, but it is not nearly as out of control as the media is spinning it to be. I cannot describe to you how angry I was this morning when I was sitting on the couch watching The Today Show and saw that a couple was suing Princess Cruises for negligence regarding the virus. Negligence. Are you freaking kidding me?!?! The couple is saying that th ..read more

How to Pick the Perfect Itinerary on the Perfect Ship
Cruise Everyday Blog

As I announced yesterday, we will be sailing on the Norwegian Jewel to Alaska in June of 2020. Why did we pick Alaska? Why did we pick the Jewel? Good questions, folks. Picking a cruise itinerary can actually be quite stressful. Ironic right? You want to make sure that you pick the best itinerary based on your wants and needs so that you don’t end up regretting it later. A lot of research went into the booking of this cruise, but Alaska has always been a dream itinerary of ours. We thought about doing Europe and even the Caribbean, but none of these itineraries felt right for us. We were aimi ..read more

Where Have I Been and What's Next?

Well it’s been awhile. More like 6 months. Where have I been? Well there’s a lot, but this is a cruise website and I won’t go too far into the nitty gritty. One of the issues was I became burnt out and I was no longer enjoying this. I want this to feel like a hobby and be enjoyable rather than feeling like a job that I have to stress over everyday. Also, people are mean on the internet. I mean God forbid someone disagrees with one of your opinions or doesn’t like what you have to say. MOVING ON: I will be trying to post more than I have been recently. I can’t guarantee that it will be daily s ..read more

Earlier today, Norwegian Cruise line Holdings announced that they will be partnering with the Huna Totem Corporations to build another pier in Icy Strait Point, Alaska. It will be built to long enough to moor Norwegian’s Breakaway Plus class ships. “We are thrilled to partner with the Huna Totem Corporation to construct a new pier at Icy Strait Point which will strengthen our presence in the wildly popular Alaska market and provide our guests with a best-in-class exp ..read more

Carnival Cruise Line announced the name of their 28th ship last night at the end of Wheel of Fortune. Mardi Gras will join the Carnival fleet in 2020 as the 28th ship in the Carnival fleet. She will be the first ship in the XL-class, and is set to sail out of a new state-of-the-art terminal in Port Canaveral Florida. The 180,000 gross ton vessel will be able to carry 6,500 guests at full capacity. Back in 1972, Carnival purchased a ship and named it Mardi Gras. However, it was only 27,000 tons. “Our first ship Mardi Gras was a historic vessel,” says Carnival president Christine Duf ..read more
