The discovery of what already was.

Since I got back from my trip I’ve been sensing a strong desire to turn inward and regain perspective on some aspects of my life. Last year has been all about expansion and discovery, while this time around I feel the need to rediscover what I already have, hence the title. What is that mean? Mostly, a switch in perspective. Too often I take for granted the freedom I have, while focusing on its price instead (loneliness). Where we focus our attention, our energy flows… and everything grows around it. So mostly what that has meant for me is making the best out of my alone time, which brought me ..read more

(This post is updated as I’m back in Miami, but I’ll leave it how I started it) I’m on this long ass flight right now from Dubai to Miami, which left at 3am and will last a total of 16+ hrs. I try not to look at what time it is… but I believe to be in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean right now lol. I was just thinking about how many obsessions (long lasting and transient) I had. I think the biggest long lasting one is training, even if some days I love it less than others, it’s my evergreen, #1 passion. Yes I think passion and obsession go hand in hand in my world. If I’m not obsessed, I won’t ..read more

It’s been about a month and a half since I colored my hair again and I’ve been motivated even more to have the best hair of my life but let me tell you, it ain’t easy to figure this stuff out lol. I’m experimenting with a lot of different products to see what best fits my hair, which is: Chemically treated Fine Naturally wavy Medium density With normal scalp (not too oily, not too dry). All these (plus GENETICS) play a big role in finding the best products because what works for someone doesn’t necessarily works for you. So far as I said before I’ve been a huge fan of Kerastase (which it’s not ..read more

“Change is the only constant in life”. When it comes to training, I feel my priorities have changed greatly from the past months and years. I always put training as my highest priority, not only because I consider it my driving force for my life and work, but also because of how grounded it makes me feel. I never minded how lonely the journey could get, how different from others you seem because of what you choose to consider important to you. Nothing could ever get between me and my training. Training is my constant, but because change is the only constant in life, training needs to be mallea ..read more

I know more hair stuff… ahah! Yesterday I had an amazing day for many reasons! Sometimes all we need is one great day to remind us that everything is always unfolding – in unexpected ways – and wonderful events find their way back to into our life. Trust that to be your truth! It is mine. I strongly believe that nothing is final and we need to embrace the impermanence of life, staying present and grateful when we are gifted with pleasing moments, be it of love, laughter, kindness, beauty, while being patient and having faith during hardship, remembering that “this too shall pass”: things event ..read more

As I said in my previous post, I was going to talk more about hair because after looking back and realizing how little I knew about it (plus causing extensive damage with bleach, hormonal imbalances, hairstyles and Covid) I now want to improve this aspect of my health as well. I definitely have been taking better care of my hair after 2021 and it has been consistently strengthening and grew longer than before. If you’re struggling with hair growth and want to get stronger and healthier hair, you might find helpful what I’ll share, these tips have worked great for me and made a huge difference ..read more

My hair journey.

All things are on a journey… even your hair. I cannot tell you how many times I told myself I was going to grow long hair, but somehow I’d always get distracted along the way as this process would take years and you also are told to trim your hair to grow it faster (such nonsense) and so I’d end up with shoulder length hair, bleached, damaged, not growing past that. For a while it stayed healthy as I feel I have good quality hair (even though is fine) but the last time I saw it healthy was probably around 2016. The following years has been a shit-show hair wise… I’ll tell you the whole story ..read more

My trip to Mongolia Part 2 (7 years later)

Recently I’ve seen that contortion coaches have been taken upon the idea of organizing contortion retreats in Mongolia, and started to see pictures online of these happy souls, students training together in probably the most inspiring environment you can create: guided by Mongolian coaches in the land of contortion which is hands down, Mongolia. This has gotten me thinking about my trip there. I never wrote a Part 2, but you haven’t read Part 1 you can do that here, before you go on with this post. The reason why I never wrote Part 2 is… well, that trip was a very mixed experience for me and p ..read more

I remember the first time I went to a gym. I was 16, done with recreational sports my parents got me to do and wanting to start something new for myself. I got to a machine, sat down, pulled this heavy bar attached to a cable. It was a pull down lat machine, I still remember. And so, awkwardly, my biggest passion – the love of my life – was born. That was the day I entered the door of fitness, of changing your body, shaping yourself. Little did I know, it was the beginning of an ever transforming, life long, passionate journey.  Why am I telling you this? Because like in everything, there ..read more

Creation as self expression vs a need to chase approval and fight a sense of inadequacy
Sofia Venanzetti

For a long time I’ve been having an uncomfortable relationship with IG (and social media in general), one reason being I hate the addiction factor, time wasting, false sense of “connection” with other people, and another being that at the same time I do enjoy using it for my work and self expression, to inspire and being inspired by people alike. But when are we creating and when do we become dependent on approval and praise, number of likes and followers determining our worth? The energy between the two is way different. Creating is truly expressing who you are, what you like, independently f ..read more
