Carolyn Murphy is a Manchester-based artist, specialising in printmaking and installation.  She joined the Printmakers Council (PMC) in 2021 after following members’ zoom talks during the pandemic. Since then, she has taken part in several PMC exhibitions – at Mandell’s Gallery in Norwich, Emma Mason Gallery, Eastbourne and at Bankside Gallery in London. After studying art at Thurrock, and Coventry School of Art & Design, Theresa worked as a Free-lance Illustrator using Linocut and Monoprint, editioning for artists, and learning about etching techniques. Jo Okell’s prints are always single Monotypes, sometimes referred to as Unique Prints. She works on them over time using oil based printing ink that requires drying time between each layer.  While at Morley college she used the bed of a large Offset Press to ink up each layer. After manipulating the image it is transferred on to the roller and offset onto the paper. Later, while working at Volcanic Editions, she used layers of inked acetate and rolled them through an Etching Press. She works on around seven or eight related series of prints at a time.
