Easy Sunday Morning

OUTFIT Easy Sunday Morning Easy, everyday outfit for lazy Sunday. I am so happy that I picked up this dress from Kowtow during their recent sale… New Zealand is home to many talented designers, and this dress was one of my winter closet brackets. All that free fit and comfort gets my teak and I love the layered long sleeve under it for a contrast look and keep warm in. Life was busy, hence the lack of Instagram updates. I’m not the kind of person who spends hours glued to my phone every day, so sometimes I don’t spend a lot of time on it so I don’t end up updating. The working days wer ..read more

Padma Resort Ubud Travel Diary

PLACES TO STAY • TRAVEL Padma Resort Ubud Travel Diary After a week of skyscrapers, we arrived in Bali and headed to the village of Puhu Ubud two hours away to be surrounded by a panoramic view of the fragrant tree plantations. According to our cheerful driver Gede (who drove us to different places in Bali later, so recommended), Padma is currently the only resort in the untouched tourist area, so when you finally find yourself in the village and go down a long road, you know that you are heading to a quiet corner of Bali away from all this. And that’s right. Even the center of Ubud is a ..read more

Hello from Singapore

OUTFIT Hello from Singapore Hello from Singapore! Last time I was only here for one day, so I completely forgot how hot and sticky it is. However, this time, after being here for a week, there is no chance that I forgot. Despite the humidity and almost impossible to stay outside for over an hour at a time, Singapore seems to feel at home for me. I have many loving relatives and friends here, and it is always so nice to see them when I am in town. One morning we stopped at a colorful heritage house lined up in the streets of Katong to take off this suit. A bright red pleated dress with sh ..read more

A recent survey* conducted by SK-II showed that millions of women around the world feel pressured to reach certain goals by a certain age to avoid feeling that they are lagging behind or failing to meet the expectations set by society. In particular, one in three women in Asia feels that there is an expectation to follow a predetermined schedule for their lives to feel that they meet social criteria for success, and only 2 out of 10 women in Asia agree with the idea that they are getting older. When I came from a traditional Chinese background, I also felt like one of these people before. Fr ..read more

Shirakawago in Snow

For centuries I have dreamed of visiting Shirakawago, a bizarre picturesque UNESCO World Heritage site in the Japanese mountains. Small enough to discover it, but far enough away to reach it in a day. Shirakawago is one of those places that’s just super inaccessible. If you want to visit the city, you are best to include it in a wider route that includes visiting the nearby Takayama and Kanazawa both equally interesting cities that are just as far away from your normal arrival at Narita airport. However, these days, the new bullet train to Takayama has made it even easier to access the cit ..read more

The second part of my East Tasmania Coast Guide will head south towards Hobart. While we have visited each location on the way, stopping in numerous small towns to spend the night before moving on to the next one, you can also easily locate yourself in Hobart to explore each of these places. When we visited Freycinet National Park, the most remote place from Hobart, we came across a lot of people who were on their way from Hobart to also come and visit, so it’s quite feasible if you prefer to stay in one place to visit all the sights below! Weinglass Bay, Freycinet National Park For those w ..read more

outfit bridestowe estate’s lavender dreams..   Forget Provence for now, because we lucky Australians seem to have our own beautiful lavender estate down in Tasmania. Just 45 minutes from Launceston in a small town called Naboula, it was one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited, the Bridestowe Lavender Estate. From a small family dream many decades ago to one of Tasmania’s most popular eco-tourism destinations, Bridestowe Lavender Estate will definitely add to your itinerary. There’s nothing like wandering through endless fields of lavender, its scent fills the air with t ..read more
