Hello!
I've been using the same Seagate harddrive as my secondary drive since 2006. It's a mess with files from 3 or 4 different computers at this point. It's been a beast so I've kept using it but I just started getting a Windows alert that the drive is failing and I should back it up.
I have a new portable SSD that I could move the files to, but does the age difference between the drives affect anything? Can I just copy and paste the files I want to keep like I used to do?
Thank you!

This morning I accidentally deleted video files from a shoot a few days ago because I thought I'd already transferred the files. The files were .MOV, on a SanDisk 32gb microSD card, and were shot on a Lumix GH5 camera. I have access to a Mac. What (preferably free) software could be best for this? THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! <3

Hello I've accidentally deleted a lot of files from my afromentioned external hard drive and emptied the bin before realizing. I have never tried data recovery before and am not too tech savy so i dont really understand most of what's being said on this sub lmao. Im trying to get the photos and videos on it back. I'm kind of on a budget tho so Disk Drill is out of the question (I've also heard it's not really the best) and wanted to try Test Drill instead. Can someone tell me if this would work? Thanks!

Hello ? long post ahead please bear with me.
My SD card suddenly stop working on my android device, i just recently checked and all my important files/pictures are all gone, I really really need to recover my files, it has all my requirements for my final examination and all my activity/works for my different subjects. My months of preparations and efforts to complete all those will go down the drain and doing it all over again from the start would be impossible. My life is over.
I had this SD card for years so i didn't really bother to have a back up on what i put in and this is the first ti ..read more

Hello,
I’m posting on behalf of my boss who didn’t have her drive backed up (I know it’s dumb af). After reading several posts and calling around. We’ve landed on PITS global and Attingo as the two most likely to be able to recover our data. Has anyone here had any success with either of these companies recovering a helium drive? Additionally, can anyone verify that these places aren’t a scam? TIA
Edit: We know it’s a physical failure and that breaking the helium seal will be necessary. Secure Data Recovery said they can’t work on it because it’s helium. Is my boss throwing money away?

I had a png file I used for my DnD regional map, made with Paint. It is stored on my main drive (SSD). I could load it up in Paint or the Windows photo viewer tool to look and edit it just fine.
Today, all of the sudden it decided to stop working. I was in the photo viewer and wanted to change something, and loaded it in Paint. It said it didn't work ... ok, I loaded it in Paint 3D, which still worked, decided to save it over the old file.
Now it does not work to be loaded in any way or form. It is gone, right?

I reset my PC thinking it would solve an issue, and for whatever reason I decided to do it twice. Is there a way to get back the original data.
