Lots to be thankful for this year, including BCUSA and all the good folks on here. So I figured it was time for a giveaway. (Never done one before, so go easy on me.)
The winner of the giveaway will receive a USPS medium flat rate box full of bushcrafty goodness. All you gotta do is be the first to successfully decipher all four clues below, each of which describes an item going in the box (there will be other stuff too, but these are the big-ticket items, if you will).

Well it's been a while (30yrs) since I've owned a .44 mag rifle.
My interests are pretty much limited to practical guns that are capable of handling both large animals and really bad weather. I certainly love my 45-70 Marlins but the thought of having a 10 round .44 mag stainless lever gun peaked my interest.
This Smith and Wesson 1854 hit my local shop last night and it was calling my name at 9:30 this morning. After a couple minutes of paperwork and payment unpleasantries I was on my...

Hello Buck and all. I am a life learner, and several forums here intersect areas of my interest. I do like modern conveniences, but I love learning expedient methods of accomplishing things. Among them are fire, stoves (especially tlud), water (especially the ability to find it when it is needed and if necessary to make it usable), and shelter (especially hammocks for the most comfortable rest I have ever experienced, indoors and outdoors). I like inexpensive quality (like

I thought I’d start one of those threads for my ongoing Bushcraft “action” (or what passes for it around here.)
To begin, here’s a little backyard session with my youngest, Sylvi. We have some traditions when we get left alone at home while everyone else is out doing big kid stuff. We watch Heron and Crane, eat poached eggs, read Frog and Toad, and then at some point she usually says “I have an idea! How about hot drinks outside?”...

I’m selling my unused Spyderco Darn Dao. It’s a pretty awesome piece for Spyderco fans, or for anyone for that matter.
It is #540 of a flash batch of 1200 pieces. It has a 10.63”, CPM 154 steel, full tapered tang blade. Click here for more info.
It is a catch and release for me. I love the knife and would happily keep it. I simply went on a buying spree and am letting some go.
Please PM me with any questions and for additional pics, if needed...
