TW: violence Just wondering if I’m not alone/wanna hear your crazy experiences. One of the ones that sticks out in my mind is my classmates telling me they wanted me to d1e if there was a school sh0oting… while the teacher stood by and did nothing. Just one of the crazy experiences in SDA school? submitted by /u/detective-avocado [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

The Program on Netflix brought back memories of "Not my Kid"

After the way that Shiny Happy People, and the Hillsong docuseries affected me, I delayed watching this one. The program was sickening but I'm so happy for these people that their story is being shared with the world. That aside, while I was watching it, I remembered quite vividly how we were "allowed" and encouraged to watch certain movies at home. One of them was "Not my kid" There's a description and brief segment on The Program where they talk about the meetings with parents and I immediately remembered how that movie was used to remind us of how destructive it would be for our parents an ..read more

People drink because they want DEATH!

Dad's watching a sermon right now and there's this old dude on the podium. Like, REALLY old. I wouldn't say he's older than dirt, but they definately were in high school together. Anyway, the guy's talking about Heaven, and according to him the reason that people who don't accept Christ aren't allowed in Heaven is because they wouldn't be happy there, in fact it would be supreme torture for them to be in heaven! You know what else can be considered supreme torture? BURNING! He then goes on to say that people who reject God love death, and the proof is that they drink and do drugs, and they dr ..read more

Pretty much what the title says. Me and a friend of mine have been making plans to go to his dad's farm to camp out in the woods. I mentioned it to my father and he stated I can't go if it's the weekend because I'd be seeking my own pleasure. I fundamentally disagree that would be breaking the Sabbath, especially since Isaiah 58 isn't even taking about recreation but business affairs. I've pretty much decided I'm gonna go anyway, how do I deal with my father on the matter? EDIT: I'm gathering a lot of information from this thread on how to deal with the inevitable discussion that'll take plac ..read more

Hello friends/enemies/and all those in between, This is something I feel randomly when thinking about adventism and I wanted to know if anybody else got the same feeling: when I think about adventists and the church actually being something that people outside of the circle know about it always surprises me. I realize its one of the biggest protestant denominations in the world but for some reason when i was in the church or around stuff in it I always had this feeling that we were like a small group that was semi hush hush? Idk if anybody else got that but hey im asking. Hope you're all havi ..read more

Sabbath Breakers Club April 12 & 13—Including Skeptical Rant about the LORD of Sabbath and His Mouthpiece

The LORD of Sabbath wants control of His worshippers every seventh rotation of the earth on its axis. The LORD of Sabbath chose a woman who was smitten in the face when a playmate hurled a rock at her in a childhood rage to be His mouthpiece. The Lord of Sabbath through His rock-anointed mouthpiece said His worshippers should abstain from vinegar. His rock-appointed mouthpiece delivered the message and then sneaked lots and lots of vinegar. Critical historians suspect she got an alcohol buzz this way because in those days vinegar contained some alcohol. The LORD of Sabbath did not demote ..read more
