The Urgency of Hope

Is it the end of time? Well, I don’t know! Only God knows when that day is. But based on what we are seeing these days and what the Word of God says, I think it’s likely that we’re living in the end times. And if we are, there are a lot of people who are sadly not headed toward Heaven. I don’t know about you, but I’m not ok with that!  I hope we would say the same as Spurgeon…that if someone is going to hell, it would not be because they were unwarned or unprayed for. And it would not be without “our arms wrapped around their legs, begging them not to go.” We must not keep the hope ..read more

O, What A Savior

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 You’ve likely heard this verse before, but have you ever thought about it in the context of Christmas? You might be thinking, “That’s a very strange thought. While we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus, we are thinking about His death?” The answer is yes! We cannot separate those two events because it’s the very reason Jesus was born. After the amazing way that Jesus’ birth was announced to the world and His family fled to Egypt to escape Kin ..read more

For God and Country

“If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” This promise from God found in 2 Chronicles can give us such hope—even in a time where hope is scarce for our country. But here’s the truth: God is faithful; He keeps His promises. So, we must humble ourselves, pray, and seek His face. We must turn from our wicked ways and repent of our sins. That’s the power of the Gospel. When we place our trust in Jesus alone and turn from our sins, w ..read more

Fruit of the Spirit

In my grandson’s preschool last year, one of the key things they covered as growing children was the Fruit of the Spirit. This foundational knowledge of what God develops in us is key for our growth as believers in Jesus. After we come to know Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are filled with the Holy Spirit who begins to mature these in us. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 shows us clearly the gifts that God grows in us—and while it is important fo ..read more

Do you ever get nervous about sharing the Gospel? For the month of May, we at Evangelism Explosion have partnered with the Go Movement and many other ministries to equip and encourage Christians to share their faith. So this month, I’d like to share three witnessing tips that could be the confidence booster you have been waiting for to get started: being intentional to share the Gospel, looking for “Divine Appointments,” and using words to communicate what Jesus has done to others. Ready? Let’s get started.  BE INTENTIONALSometime ago, I was on a radio show, and a young lady was intervie ..read more

Our Task

It was August 30th, 2019, and we had just concluded our 4th Congress of Nations in Tirana, Albania. It was a wonderful event, but it could have been better. Many of our National Directors struggled to get a visa to Albania, and this resulted in a lower attendance than anticipated. The last session of that 2019 Congress was a stunning performance by our EE South Korean team, excitedly welcoming us to Jeju Island, South Korea, for the upcoming 2022 Congress of Nations! It was anticipated to be our biggest and best event entry yet. Jeju Island allowed entrance to people from almost every nation ..read more

Do you ever have times when you walk out the door, and you’ve realized you’ve forgotten your keys? Or have you gone on a vacation and remember only after you’ve gotten to your destination that you forgot sunscreen? And bug spray? And your toothbrush? Now, these are somewhat silly things to forget. But in the Bible, there were often times when prophets, apostles, and disciples had to remind the people of God about very important truths in God’s Word because humans can be forgetful. Our attention gets taken by many things, or we continually take in so much information that we forget the importa ..read more

New Beginnings

Midnight strikes. You hear commentators  wishing you “Happy New Year!” from the screen as people embrace and cheer. And the questions sound in your heart, “What will be new this next year? What can be different?” Recently, my grandson bemoaned to his parents that he couldn’t clean up the toys in the room with his sister. It was too overwhelming. There were too many. How could it ever change from the state that it was into something different? How do we start something hard and see it through? Well, my daughter gave the same advice to my grandson that I remember giving to her as a little ..read more

Our Servant King

One starry night, long ago, a baby was born in a manger. The angels in the Bible describe this infant to the cowering shepherds as their “Savior… Christ the Lord!” Now, I imagine these Jewish men did not expect the King of kings and Lord of lords—their Messiah!—to come as an infant. But when they hurried from the scene of the angels to meet Jesus, lying in a manger, they saw their God take on one of the humblest forms imaginable. And He did it for you and for me.  There is a hymn that describes our Savior in this state: “Infant holy, infant lowly; for His bed a cattle stall. Oxen lowing ..read more

Gratitude and Grace

Did you know gratitude goes hand-in-hand with grace? It makes sense when you think about it! The definition of grace is “the undeserved favor of God.” Romans 3:24 says that we “are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” The natural response to a gift as big as the undeserved grace of God towards us—a people who chose rebellion against our Creator—is gratitude. And if it wasn’t, there would be something seriously wrong! Have you witnessed a new believer on fire for God? You can hardly contain them from telling everyone around them about what God has ..read more
