The third and final stop on our tour of the Caucasus region was Yerevan, Armenia. There is a lot to see and do in Yerevan, and we certainly had a great time there. Getting There After our fantastic time in Tblisi, Georgia, we began our road trip to Armenia. The roads were a little rough as we neared the boarder but luckily it wasn’t snowing or raining to make the situation any worse. When we reached the boarder there were a few other cars there so we waited. When it was our turn the boarder agent took our passports and flipped through them. Once he did, we both had to get out of the car and ..read more

The Sulfur Bath Houses in Old Town Tbilisi, Georgia might not be on the top of everyone’s travel list, but it should be! We arrived in Tbilisi via an overnight train from Baku, Azerbaijan and took a cab to our hotel. The driver could not have been nicer and pointed out many sights of the city on our drive. He also went out of his way to get correct change for us when we got to our hotel. We decided to stay at Hotel DCorner and loved our time there, especially the breakfasts! The city is a beautiful mix of new, modern architecture and old, traditional style buildings. Tbilisi is most famous ..read more

Somehow it has gotten to be over one year since our trip to Greece. Time really does fly when you’re having fun! So for the (ahem – slightly past . . .) one year anniversary of our trip, here is our Zakynthos Island adventure! In late August/early September we spent 10 days in Greece, only 2 of which were on the stunning Zakynthos Island. The rest of our trip we explored the southern part of the mainland and saw more history than I can still believe. Stay tuned for that part of the trip in my next post!     Getting There In line waiting to board the ferry. It is possible to fl ..read more

Moving abroad can come with lots of exciting things – travel, exploring a new culture, finding new ways to do things, and the list goes on, but it also comes with a few things can seem like a bit of a headache. In our case with moving to Kuwait our headaches came in the form of obtaining my visa and importing our sweet dog. Filing US Taxes as an Expat wasn’t necessarily a huge headache for us, although I can see how it could be for many families. Since there are just the two of us we decided to file our taxes ourselves for the first year, particularly because we were only expats for a few mont ..read more

Over a year ago, when I was a brand new baby blogger, this was one of the first recipes I ever posted. I’ve decided to go back through and re-post a few of these with updated printer-friendly recipe boxes because they are much prettier. Also, how on Earth did I have so much to say only one year ago?? Anyway, I bring you (again), No Sugar Added Baked Oatmeal! All mixed up with the delicious add-ins! The only thing I love more than a baked healthy oatmeal recipe is a crockpot healthy oatmeal recipe. And since I was previously sans crockpot, this baked oatmeal had rounded the corner and moved ..read more

Super fast Bulgar Salad. Today I’m bringing you another throw-back recipe from the very beginning of this blog. I’m re-vamping a few older posts to include better recipe breakdowns. In January we took a trip through the Southern Caucasus, which is made up of Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia. We were looking for a bit of cooler weather after spending Christmas and New Year’s on the beach. Azerbaijan and Armenia don’t exactly get along, so we intentionally planned our route to give us as much ease as possible at boarder crossings. Our first stop was Baku, Azerbaijan! The Carpet Museum Just about anywhere you look, Baku is described as being similar to Dubai. While we love Dubai, we weren’t super excited to visit another Dubai. Luckily, for us anyway, Baku couldn’t have b ..read more
