So I have a buddy coming from out of town that wants to go hunting with me. My rifle collection is limited but what do you think would be the best rifle to use for a deer hunt between the two. Century Arms C308 or Springfield Armory Socom 2? Either one will also have a bipod attached. I appreciate any feedback and hope that the uppity snobs don’t come on this post

Deer Hunting does not need to be expensive. This great hobby can be kept very economical and cost friendly. Do we all think and do that? Hell NO lmao But It really can.
Whether you want use a blind, tree stand, or the newer style tactic that I use and love, The tree saddle You do not need to go out and buy high dollar equipment to get started.
I get it, “You get what you Pay for” but like any hobby, upgrade your equipment over time and you will build a system of equipment that fits you. Using that equipment will eventually become automatic or like muscle memory.

I sprayed a two acre field that had grass about 5 inches high or so. It is all completely dead. Can I spread a clover/chicory mix right into the dead thatch without having to disc the thatch? We are expected to get up to an inch of rain the next few days. We have not had any rain in the last three weeks and it is extremely dry. I have a groundhog max if I needed to disc but it is so dry I feel it will be like driving on concrete and not sure how well it would work the the soil. Thanks everyone for your input!

Looking for a good source of venison recipes... Got access to 50-75 pounds at least of ground, stew, summer sausage, breakfast sausage, neck, liver and heart, several roasts, blackstrap & loin etc. I'm looking to experiment with differ cuts/recipes . Any suggestion out there?
