Natural Wines Wine as nature intended...... Wines termed as ‘natural’ can be many things, and they include organic and biodynamic wines. It’s complicated. But there are two rules of thumb: natural wine is not manipulated and not produced industrially. It takes winemaking back to its origins and its connection to the land. Our simple mission as natural wine specialists is to help our customers discover delicious wines that are produced as naturally and sustainably as possible.  Buon Vino. Julien Courtois, following in his father Claude's footsteps, created his own vineyard, Le Clos de la Bruyère, in 1998. Based in Soings en Sologne, the 4.5 hectare domain is run by Julien and his girlfriend, Heidi Kuka*. They work with seven varieties of grapes, including an ungrafted Menu Pineau, planted in 1978, which is used to make the Originel wine. They adhere strictly to the principle of making wines from low-yield vineyards, so the wines can be as concentrated as possible. Their work is guided by the natural rhythms of nature, and all the work takes place by hand. Chemical treatments a ..read more

In the early 1900's the land she later brought back to life, was abandoned. Two Great Wars and the promise of industry left it with vines overgrown by brambles and olive trees gone wild. Elisabetta and her husband Sergio came to the land in 1965. Elisabetta's family had cultivated vines and olive trees in Custozza, not far from Verona since the 1700's so she had farming in her blood. She recalls a childhood spent wandering in the vineyards of Valpo ..read more
