Sonakshi & Zaheer’s wedding has been an incredibly special one - not just for us, but for every life this wedding has touched, in person or otherwise. The messages of love, warmth, hope and positivity that have been coming to us are so beautiful and heartwarming.
So here is a little episode from their wedding which is special to us for multiple reasons, one of which is that we shot it on analog - a combination of Kentmere, Kodak Ultramax, Kodak Portra and TMAX film.
We love shooting film because of the organic nature of the process. Especially in today’s digital world, there is an immense ..read more

Weddings, just like life, are made up of tiny moments which are nested in larger moments as one flows through time. So this here is a snippet from Tanya & Shivam’s wedding, which begins just as they complete their varmala exchange and concludes just before their pheras ended.
Shivam had had a crazy baraat where if his friends had their way could have easily gone on for double the duration it did. Once his baraat ended, Shivam took his place at the end of the aisle waiting for his bride to arrive. Tanya had written a letter for Shivam which she had read out in advance, and as she walked dow ..read more

As the title suggests, it was a lazy afternoon. Moroccan musicians dressed in red played some traditional music, as the green cacti jutted out against the blue sky, and a black and white cat slept on a red carpet just outside a hotel suite from which the sound of laughter and chatter emerged.
In this hotel suite, Avisha sat in a shaded corner as her mehendi artists worked their magic into the design on her hands and feet. Avni and Shivang, her elder sister and younger brother played their respective roles - Avni, a companion to Avisha in laughter as Shivang kept the air peppered with humour. A ..read more

A few months ago, a simple message showed up in our Instagram inbox. It was from Paolo Woods. To paraphrase, it essentially said that ‘I am the curator of this year’s edition of Cortona on the Move, among the most known photo festivals of Italy; and I would like to invite you to be a part of this year’s festival’. At first, we didn't believe it. We really thought someone was pulling a joke on us. We had never sent in any applications anywhere, so we were really surprised as a series of events unfolded after that.
We spoke to Paolo on the phone. He told us that he is including wedding photograp ..read more

What we have seen, and continue to see in weddings inspired this attempt
Our collaborative creative process is such that there is no specific starting point, especially because we don't know what form things will take. Last evening, after finally being home together after months on the road with time and freedom for our creative energies to play, it has taken a form of visual poetry inspired by photographs of moments we have shot across weddings
As Ekta came to me with a curated bunch of visuals, I started writing. And things started coming together such that every line of the poem correspon ..read more

While Pooja & Manjot knew, and knew of each other for a while; it took some time for their story to brew. What they share in common is a love for good food, good music & dance. At the same time, they are quite different from each other in some ways - if you know them, you know what we are talking about. One thing though, is for certain - that together, they are electric.
Their relationship blossomed during the pandemic, and we are so fortunate that we had the opportunity to meet them and hear Manjot narrate everything that happened - he is an incredible storytelling. We are even luckie ..read more

“We are going to Cannes”, we said to ourselves. And we still couldn’t believe it.
You see, there are a few places in the world that mean much more to you than just being a point on a map - I’m sure each one of us has a few of those. Cannes, to us, means something. And we had the opportunity, fortune, luck & honour to document the wedding of Radhika & Yasho there - two incredible human beings we have been so fortunate to get to know better, as we went about clicking away, as they said their vows in the South of France.
While all of us stayed at The Martinez, the venues were diverse - th ..read more

Khrisha & Anmol grew up in the same city, and went to the same school. Then, life took them on their individual journeys across the world - to places of education & to fields of work. Eventually their paths crossed again, and they fell in love. Over the last few years, Khrisha & Anmol have built a beautiful little bubble of love of their own, away from the prying eyes of the world. They are both intensely private, and beautiful human beings.
Over this journey of documenting their wedding, we have been fortunate to get a glimpse into their lives. What we have seen from close quarter ..read more

Mother (definition)
(noun) The female parent of a person or animal
(verb) To look after somebody like a mother does
Being documentary photographers, we have the absolute honour and privilege of seeing the definition of a mother, and the many forms of motherhood across historical, landmark moments in the lives of individuals & families, several times a year. We wish we could do this more often in a year.
The images we have chosen here just happen to be unique enough for us to tell you our interpretation of these moments, where motherhood shows. Thank you for all of you who have chosen to sh ..read more
