This year’s LGBTQ+ Fostering and Adoption week brings together the UK’s adoption and fostering agencies to raise awareness of the vital need for people within the LGBTQ+ community to consider adopting or fostering under the theme ‘1,2,3 or more’.
The week, which is run by New Family Social, and in its eleventh year, remains the only campaign to focus on LGBTQ+ people. LGBTQ+ people now account for the second largest group of adopters in England, with 1 in 6 adoptions in 2022 to same sex couples.

Diagrama Adoption supports a new campaign.
You Can Adopt has launched ‘A Life Less Ordinary’, a new campaign to find parents for children waiting longest to be adopted. With latest data revealing there are enough prospective adopters for most children waiting to be adopted, the campaign is focused on finding the right adopters for specific groups of children that face the greatest delays in finding a home.
These include children aged five or over, children with additional and/or complex needs, brother and sister groups, and those from an ethnic minority background.

May saw the start of summer for many with Diagrama's annual event for Adoption and Foster Families
35 children and their families enjoyed a picnic in the sun recently at the Diagrama hosted annual event. Adopters and Foster Carers were invited to bring their families to the animal themed picnic in Purley and spend the day relaxing and having fun, away from the stresses of everyday life.
The activities for the children included ‘pin the tail on the unicorn’, a soft play area for younger children, face painting, jewellery making and a bouncy castle for the bigger kids. Many arrived dressed as ..read more

Gillian, from Diagrama's Supported Living Service in Bromley, has had her wish fulfilled by Local Dance School, Shimmi Shake, owned by Diagrama adopter Sue.
Gillian, 67, who lives in her own home under the care of Diagrama’s Supported Living Service in Bromley, has had a wish fulfilled by local dance school, Shimmi Shake.
Diagrama has been running a ‘Wish Tree’ initiative throughout its services, to grant the wishes of the people they support, Gillian’s wish was to have a dance experience.
