Autumn is well and truly with us and I find personally this is the time of year I begin to shift my focus and become even more mindful of my movement and eating patterns in preperation for the winter. Spring is a time of transition, renewal, expansion and emergence perhaps you can sense new energy as its being released into trees, plants and flowers. After the dormant energy of winter we’re often drawn toward higher fat food, more protein, caffeine and sugar which in turn creates congestion and stagnation within our body and mind. The above photo shows the books I will read this year and I’ll probably add a few more to the pile. I love reading because I enjoy learning and as you will see from the book titles these reads will provide further knowledge and inspiration for my classes, so you could say I’m choosing to invest in my future self and yours. There was a study done in 2009 by the university of Sussex which was reported by the Telegraph, these findings were based on the results by cognitive neuropsychologist Dr. David Lewis . Dr D. I first came across Vision boards at college while studying Fashion Design and Art, I loved creating them all those years ago and up until a few years ago I’d forgotton how powerful they are. This year I introduced this creative task to my mum and daughter you could say we had a Vision Board Party. It’s a perfect task to do any time of the year, as I always say every month, week, day and hour is an opportunity to create your future. Typically this time of the year everyone seems to be chatting about what detox plan, diet or fitness regime they’re following and thats great if a new year inspires a new you. But it’s worth remembering that every new month, day and minute offer an opportunity for change, i’ll just let you into a little secret I don’t use the word “diet” especially around my family. It’s the time of the year when our food choices, immune system and general wellbeing are challenged with the hustle & bussle of preparing for Christmas so I’d like to share with you a few tips to beat the festive stress.   Firstly lets look at food, especially the festive buffet which can be full of manufactured and processed foods.
