I thought I would try to show you how to make one of these bucket bags...
They are fast and easy.
I used 2 Fat Quarters and some batting.
If you want a stiffer bag,
you could use Soft and Stable by Annie
I stacked the two fat quarters on my cutting mat.
I cut my strips from the short sides
Cut 4 - 4.5" x 18" strips(bag outside and inside)
and
1 - 4" strip from EACH fat quarter(handles)
The two strips 4" x 18" will be the handles.
4 - 4.5" x 18 will be for the outside of the bag.
4 - 4.5" x 18" will be for the inside of the bag.
You will also need 4 ..read more

I like to keep a journal of my quilts at the end of each year.
Many have gone to new homes and some still live with me.
Looking back at a year of projects.
I see I am in a bold color phase
These are not in order of completion.
I loved this Moda Blockheads Stars by Sarah Thomas
It can be two sizes
and
I used Alchemy by Tim Holtz for this one!
Petal Palette by CherryWood Fabrics
It is a kit with all their hand dyed solids included in the kit!
Using Alchemy By Tim Holtz again...
I had to make this Storm Front by Lakevi ..read more

One of our favorite ‘quick trip’ places
Is
Las Vegas, Nevada
There is always so much you can do!
We flew out of Williston, ND
On
Sun Country airlines
Close, easy and affordable flights!
We went to see Vicki Barbolak
She was a comedian
on
Americas Got Talent
We had such a nice chat with her before the show
I was so happy for her to get a chance to get her own show
Her show is at Jimmy Kimmel Comedy Club
It was Vicki’s birthday
In true ‘trailer trash style’ …..
she was giving out little Debbie treats!
We also went to S ..read more

One of my highlights from all the amazing things I did this summer...
sounds like a horror movie....
"I know what you did last summer"
LOL
This has been on my bucket list since my first entry
to
Cherrywood challenges in 2017
We stopped into Brainerd, Minnesota
Pulling up to a very unassuming little building
where
it said Cherrywood Fabrics.
I
WAS
BLOWN
AWAY!
The color was incredible.
I had to have this quilt!
It's on my long arm right now!
This sign was so cool
It was made by Bohin France...
the company in France that makes amazing ..read more

Well now....
I can not believe my Cherrywood entry for 2023 was chosen to travel!
That is 6 years in a row.
Every year I tell myself...
'this is where it ends!'
I am so honoured!
The theme was Monarch with only these colors.
Same criteria...
20"x20"
Only Cherrywood Fabrics from the bundle.
Monarch inspired
This is mine!
It makes it's first appearance at Houston Quilt Festival next week!!
I got my inspiration when we went to Las Vegas last November.
The floors in the Wynn Hotel were covered in butterflies on point!
Even the walls!

Well, let me reintroduce myself…
as I seem to have gone missing for 11 months!
Christa Marcotte...quilter...farmer...explorer!
I am actually still alive..
I can honestly say I’ve been everywhere man!
We got in the car in June
and
headed to Minnesota to see a dear friend, Charlotte
Next, we headed to Charleroix, Michigan
touring
all through Wisconsin and Minnesota
to
see Arnold’s cousin, Colinda and Tim
Colinda’s guest bed had sheets from heaven on them!
She’s lucky we ever left!
What a beautiful house they have!

We were pretty tickled to finally have a sea day!
We did NOTHING
but
Enjoyed the view off our balcony!
We headed back to Avenida Palace once we returned to Barcelona.
The same driver picked us up.
We really enjoyed being pampered that's for sure.
There is just something about a prebooked driver
who
shows up with your name on a board!
Pampered...that's for sure!
We got a kick out of our key for the room.
It weighed about 5 pounds.
You were to drop it off at the desk when ever you went out
and
get it again when you came back!
It was too heavy to put in your pock ..read more

We were picked up by Luca on this day!
He took us for a drive on the Amalfi Coast in Italy.
These little towns were built on the side of cliffs.
We stopped for sip and a bite
How cute was Anita's tea pot!
This eclair was divine!
Lunch was in Sorrento
We loved to check out where the locals shop
This market was so vibrant with color!
I was about to squeeze the lemons when I noticed a sign saying
"DON'T squeeze the fruit"
I guess it's too inviting!
We brought home a delicious Parmesan wedge.
We found a fire roasted Pizza place ..read more

It's crazy what gets my attention when I am travelling!
I would have loved to check this out but didn't have time!
I wonder how my quilt for the Cherrywood Challenge compared
to
the real thing??
We knew this was going to be a BIG day!
Who does the Coliseum AND the Vatican on one day??
Why us... of course...
We don't know if we will be back
and
I had to see BOTH!!
Our Driver for the day was Massimo
He even had a street named after him! lol
He started off the day a tad grouchy
but
by lunch, I had him on the right side of pos ..read more
