On November 6, 2022, over forty-seven thousand runners finished the TCS New York City Marathon on one of the hottest and most humid November race days on record in NYC. Fifty-five of these runners were Harriers. Scoring for our men’s team were Alexander Simon, Gary Frankland, and Alan Yorke. The women’s team was led by Kristin Lunghamer, Susannah Davies, and Amrita Ramamurthy. Top Masters points went to Gary, Alan, Luke Kennedy, Stephanie Hodge, Briana Guiney, and Ellen Foley.   Twenty-six Harriers raced through the streets of midtown Manhattan for the 2022 Abbott Dash to the Finish Line 5K, which doubled as the USATF 5km Road Championships. The weather was mild and somewhat humid – and there would be similar conditions for the following day’s NYC Marathon. Scoring for the 5th place women’s team were Abigail Carney, Mirjam Lablans, Louise Xie, Tara Jarvis, and Ari Scott. Fifty-three Harriers tackled the 50th anniversary of the TCS New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 7. Sunny skies, temps in the upper 40s, and about half the usual field size made for near-perfect racing conditions. Thomas Kennedy was the first Harrier across the finish line in a blazing 2:33:09 (and 54th place overall), with Zack Pollock and Justin Perkins coming in as 2nd and 3rd Harrier men. Twenty-one Harriers lined up at the start of this year’s Abbott Dash to the Finish Line 5K. It was a chilly, sunny, and exciting morning as runners prepared to race the first Dash in two years. The Harrier men’s team placed 4th, with Lee Sossen, Charlie Pearlman, Ryan Langdale, Luke Kennedy, and Stephen McCracken scoring. On the women’s side, the team placed 5th, with Laura Kelly, Maddie Rizzo, Jess Lee, Susan Bayat, and Helen Charlton scoring. September 12, 2021 marked the return of the New Balance 5th Avenue Mile, the fastest points race of the year. Thirty-three Harriers raced the completely straight, mostly flat 20-block stretch in several different age group heats. Scott Bartucca was the first Harrier across the finish in 4:51, with Erik Shewan (5:04), Hanon Jhung (5:07), Myles Fennon (5:08), and Ryan Langdale (5:09) rounding out the top 5 men.
