My 2025 Diary has just arrived in the post. The first job I have to do is to put in all the dates which have been booked for my quilting talks so far for 2025. I currently offer two talks
'My Quilting Journey' - a journey through my creative journey of dressmaking, creative textiles, hand quilting and longarm quilting
'The Final Stretch' - that bit nobody really talks about – what do I need to do to get that quilt finished and get it finished to the best it can be, what you will need to consider whether you are hand quilting, quilting on your domestic machine or using a long ..read more

Sian's Children's Pastel Quilt
I think this quilt was a joint effort between mother, daughter and granddaughter, and then my quilting. One choosing the colours, one piecing it, then the other finishing it off - it is amazing what you can get done in a group effort! The quilt was inspired by the backing fabric, which was also used as the border. The quilting pattern is Popcorn by Willow Leaf Studio - always a popular choice, for good reason, it seems to work on almost any quilt and is one of my personal favourites because of it s versatility.

Cathy's Olympics 2012 Gamemaker Quilt
As we enjoy the 2024 Paris Olympics, it reminded me that Cathy recently brought me her quilt top which she had made to commemorate the London 2012 Olympics. Cathy was a Games Maker in 2012, so the blocks all feature sports. On the back of the quilt, Cathy sourced a duvet cover which featured the London Underground map to remind her of the trips she made each day to be part of the special events. On this occasion, I strongly suggested putting a label on the back, so that generations to come would know how she was involved ..read more

Festival of Quilts Catalogue 2024
This week sees the opening of the Festival of Quilts at the NEC, Birmingham, UK - will you be going? I don't have any of my own quilts on display this year, but a few of my customers have entered in the Two Person Category.
If you are making a special trip, it is a great show to pick up the bits you need to finish off your quilt, like the backing fabric and the binding, so don't forget to take your fabric swatches with you. Once you have everything together, get in touch and I can longarm quilt it for you.

Ann's Starry Path Quilt
Today I am sharing Ann's Starry Path Quilt which she followed from and American Quilting magazine. From the picture of the whole quilt, you can see it was a very large quilt, reaching the ceiling when it was displayed - a real labour of love.
Ann's Starry Path Quilt
With lots of white space, the quilting pattern really had a place to shine, so Ann chose an elegant spiral pattern called 'Surf' designed by Anne Bright.

June's Scrappy Broken Dishes Quilt
Sometimes it is the simplest quilts which are most effective. June has pulled out her scraps and made a collection of half square triangle blocks to make a Broken Dishes quilt. She has used some old and new fabrics, but with this pattern, they all blend beautifully.
June's Scrappy Broken Dishes Quilt
With a busy quilt top the quilting pattern wasn't going to be the main player, but Ginger Hearts is a simple and effective quilting pattern in my library which works well on a range of quilts.

Margie's Applique Hear Quilt
Today I am sharing Margie's Applique Hearts quilt, based on a Laundry Basket Quilts pattern, using Edyta Sitar fabrics. The soft tones of the fabric range go so well with the linen coloured background. With pretty fabrics, a pretty quilting pattern was in order, so we reached for an Anne Bright digital pattern, called 'Haven.
