I am so glad I ran the historic Boston Marathon in 2021. Historic because the Boston Marathon usually falls on Patriot’s Day in April — the Monday closest to the anniversary of Paul Revere’s famous midnight ride on the 18th of April in ’75 (which I have memorized from the first stanza of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s poem). In this Covid-y year, the marathon was bumped back to October, and let me tell you, October in Boston was gorgeous. Mike and I arrived midday Saturday, ate a delicious Mexican lunch near out hotel, and then walked over to the finish line and Expo. Runners had to either show ..read more

About a month ago, someone posted in a running group I follow on Facebook that there was a marathon that was still going on with small 10-person wave sizes. I clicked the link just out of curiosity and discovered that it was ..read more

I have been so excited to write this post because I had such a great time at this race. Not only did I PR and BQ for the second time, but I got to enjoy a beautiful marathon in the Pacific Northwest. Get ready for a picture dump because here we go… Mike and I dropped our girls off at school Friday morning and then went straight to the airport. I love our yearly tradition of taking a race-cation/weekend away together. After checking into our hotel in Issaquah, Washington, we had dinner at a brew pub and enjoyed some local beers and fish and chips. The next morning we got up and did a 3 mile sh ..read more
