Has anyone eloped at the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland without the use of a wedding company? We want to plan a EXTREMELY casual and fast elopement at the Cliffs, are we allowed to just pay a normal ticket and walk in there, take photos, and have a very quick ceremony with <6 close family members standing? submitted by /u/_slflower_ [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

We got married on 4/28 and I have our announcements ready to be ordered. Everyone is asking for registry and I want to send formally but we do leave in 2 weeks for honeymoon. Husband is saying we should post Facebook group to get to family fast. Has anyone else done this? Any ideas? submitted by /u/DifficultyWeird5697 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How did you tell them? My parents already know and they are easy. They love my boyfriend, they are super supportive, very excited. While I don't expect that from not only his parents but his extended family. So to those of you who are/were in a similar situation, what steps did you take? When they got upset, what did you do? I've got 5 months to go and have time to prepare before we tell them. submitted by /u/DaddywiseClussy [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi All! We are eloping this summer and 4 of our closest friends will be there to support us. Our ceremony will be very non-traditional, and the 4 people who will be there mean the absolute world to us and have truly supported us through the hardest times of our lives. I was wondering if the following quote would make for a nice short reading during our ceremony. I believe everything happens for a reason. I am grateful for it, whatever it is. Grateful that it brought you all into my life. If I had not met you all, I would not have known the true depths of strength, of resilience, of honor and ..read more

Hi Everyone! This sub has been super helpful in helping us decide how to elope! Because of this, I’d like to give back and explain how we are going to elope next month, in hopes that it might inspire someone else!! While attempting to plan a wedding, we were unhappy about spending a ton of money on one day that was for everyone else besides us. We also wanted to make sure that we celebrated the way that we wanted to. We are going to the courthouse on a Friday, then we are off to St Lucia the next day! We have an air bnb booked for a week. During that week, we have a photographer booked. We wa ..read more

My partner and I are pretty unconventional. We’ve been together for almost ten years, lived together for 9. Neither of us have proposed but we both plan on doing so, but we agreed we wanted to officially tie the knot on the summer solstice of next year, so we started making elopement plans for the isle of skye. I’ve never wanted a big wedding, being perceived in that way by people I know (other than my partner of course) makes my skin crawl lol. But just him and I in Scotland doing a hand fasting sounded magical. We reached out to a planner and the photographer that I always knew I wanted. So ..read more

So I have been reading posts about elopements on here for a while to help plan mine, so I thought I’d share the details of mine in case it helps anyone else out! My elopement was in hocking hills, OH! My partner & I met through hiking, so it was a perfect fit for us. I had the MUA/hair stylist come to our Airbnb at 4:30 am (v early ik). She was finished at 6:45, when my partner and I headed over to the park to meet our photographer. We hiked 0.5 miles with the photographer to our ceremony site. We changed in a pop-up tent we brought- it was raining and we didn’t want to wear our wedding c ..read more

My fiance and I are not in a financial position to spend so much money on a wedding so we decided to elope. I would love to find a cute spot in Austin or Houston for us to elope but so far it’s like 800+ just to rent like a small venue for an hour which I’m really not wanting to spend that much on a venue for an hour lol. I also have to keep in mind that we want to hire a photographer, maybe get my make up done, outfits for the both of us and our kids. Any suggestions for something a little bit more affordable? We are looking into doing so in June since one of our kids will be in town that mo ..read more

My fiancé and I (both from UK) have decided to elope in Las Vegas, and we are already very very excited! I found two packages so far: Elope in Las Vegas and Love Story Wedding Chapel. Does anyone have any experience with these packages? What was your overall experience like with them? Are there any other packages you would recommend? I’m keen to find out if these companies provide a good hair and makeup team, if anyone was happy with their results and if they also provide nice selection of bouquets for the bride? Was anyone also happy with their photos and videos? Is there a lot of tourists i ..read more
