A note from Zhenya…
Our experience of running a photography business
When we first started I thought that the majority of time would be spent taking pictures of beautiful wedding couples around Birmingham, and actually all over the UK. Well, I was wrong.
We had to create our website, run our finances, promote our business, attend networking events, work on creating collaborations with other wedding suppliers, attend wedding fayres… and finally take pictures at weddings!
To be completely honest though, as somebody who has a business degree, I found the business part of running the business as e ..read more

So What Is a Celebrant?
So What Is a Celebrant?
(With award winning Celebrant – Justine Wykerd of just-celebrations.co.uk )
I first met Justine last month early one Thursday morning on the rooftop of the Touchwood Shopping Center in Solihull. It wasn’t as entirely random an event as it first sounds. We were both there to begin our preparations for the wedding fair (fayer?) about to start several floors below us.
I didn’t know who she was or what she did, but it was instantly apparent that she naturally exuded an air of confidence and genuine amiability. Two qualities that made sense once ..read more

So What Is a Celebrant? (Part 2)
We’re back once again with Justine Wykerd with an insight into what it is to be a celebrant! Justine answered a few of our questions in our last blog post about what it is to be a celebrant whilst also dispelling some of the myths and or questions you may have. Now, in the second chapter, we will dive right in to answer more frequently asked questions around this field in the wedding industry!
A couple wants to have a very special personalised ceremony, but at the same time include some of their own traditions. Would you be able to accommodate this?

Castle Bromwich Hall, Birmingham
Mike & Suzie were a great couple to capture for. They loved taking photos and were pretty much up for trying anything creative. In fact, Suzie was throwing in a good few ideas of her own! Being a Birmingham Based Wedding Photographer, capturing their wedding at the Castle Bromwich Hall Hotel was a local for me.
The service took place at the beautiful Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Sutton Coldfield. Just over 6 miles north of Castle Bromwich Hall Hotel. As any professional Wedding Photographer would tell you, having all events at one place is always pr ..read more

Brooksby, Melton Mowbray
Brooksby Hall, Brooksby, Melton Mowbray, a peaceful and picturesque place with character that any venue would be envious of. As a wedding photographer, I had plenty to play with. It’s always an added pleasure when the couple is just as willing to take a few moments out for photography as you are!
This couple had a wonderful love story. A young couple from different cultures who despite various difficulties preserved and joined their lives together as they have dreamed of since they met each other.
This beautiful union took place at Brooksby Hall, Leicestershire, owned ..read more

Ashton Lodge Country House, Rugby
I had the honour of being Wedding Photographer to one of my oldest friend at the Ashton Lodge Country House over in Rugby! As of writing this, I have known Anastasia for 25 years (give or take). Over the past 5 or so years we have been photographers at her baby’s Christening, Fiancés surprise birthday party and now her Wedding Photography at the beautiful Ashton Lodge Country House. Quite poetic!
The day started with Zhenya photographing the gents at the Premier Inn – East Ansty, and myself with the bride at Jury’s Inn, Hinckley Island. From the get to the rai ..read more

Bordesley Park Farm
It was so much fun taking the wedding photographs at Amy and Laura’s wedding at the amazing Bordesley Park Farm. The venue holds one event per day, allowing us to have the entire 500 acres to play with, and oh boy did we play!
The grounds provided a beautiful backdrop and the trampoline, swing and football pitch came in handy for our quirky wedding pictures. Amy and Laura were jumping for joy, literally! They got right onto that trampoline, you can’t say no to the brides!
As the sun began to set on this beautiful day, Bordsley Park Farm lit a lovely outdoor fire. How can yo ..read more

Shustoke Barn, Coleshill
We first ‘met’ Luke and Cara to discuss their wedding photography over a Skype call many moons before the wedding. First thing that stuck out to me was that they were a beautiful couple, down to earth, and knew what they wanted. Qualities that were positively reinforced on their wedding day. That’s why they mentioned Shustoke Barn, I knew this venue would be perfect for them.
I can imagine actually getting married at Shustoke Barn would be a magical experience in itself. Especially exterior to the building in the winter when it gets dark early. There are seemingly endl ..read more
