Hello, friends! I’ve decided that I will be sharing a monthly update on my doings here on Flea Reads, along with the other content. This month, we have been on holiday in sunny Mexico. We stayed at the Riviera Maya resort near to Cancun. The reason for this holiday was sunshine and relaxation. Last half-term, my Auntie Lizzie said that staying home was sometimes really fun and relaxing. So we did. And it was RUBBISH. So for the Easter holidays we decided we urgently needed sunshine and R&R. Hello readers. How are you? Did you have a nice half-term? My half term was very very nice, in fact, because I went to Jamaica on a Beaches holiday. We actually went to two places to review them and they were Beaches Ocho Rios and Beaches Negril. These are both luxury resorts on Jamaica and I had a wonderful time. We had the best summer ever in California. We did a road trip from San Francisco to San Diego, and visited Big Sur, San Diego, Santa Cruz, Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. EPIC. Here are my favourite five things to do in California: 1. Go on a Helicopter Ride We took a private helicopter tour over LA. I loved seeing all the famous stars houses and the Hollywood sign and flying over the ocean. My Mum got really scared when the helicopter tipped sideways. Going back to school after an awesome summer is not my favourite time of year but I was a bit more cheerful this September when Dr Martens gifted me some rather awesome shoes to wear. After a whole half-term my shoes still look pretty shiny and smart, and Mum says that’s nothing short of a miracle. It’s true that I am quite hard on my shoes, we love to play games on the playground and have races, and my shoes usually get really scuffed. This half term we took two trips and today I will be sharing some of my favourite moments from our first trip, which was to the island of Mallorca, in Spain. We had to get up SO early to get our flight to Mallorca – 3am!! That was not one of my favourite moments. But once we arrived, it was really warm and sunny, even in the airport, and it smelled nice. Earlier this year, my Mum managed to get tickets to see The Vamps live in Birmingham. I quite liked The Vamps but I didn’t know all of their songs. Of the songs I knew my favourite one was definitely Last Night. I was allowed to take a friend, so I invited my bestie and we went to the arena with my Mum last week. I downloaded the Vamps album onto my iPhone and we listened to it in the car on the way, so we would know more of the songs. By the time we arrived, we were pretty excited. Picture the scene: I was in school and it was just another ordinary day. We were doing science and we were looking at a video about the volcanoes on YouTube and an advert came up. Suddenly all the kids were shouting, “It’s Flea!!!” And it was. Although Sir didn’t recognise me, which I thought was strange. In fact, I was in a YouTube commercial and here is what happened.
