On Saturday we celebrated Victoria and Jack’s long awaited wedding at Shiplake College, a venue that means a lot to Victoria’s family – Victoria’s Dad taught at Shiplake College for close to 25 years and Victoria spent a lot of her childhood in the grounds. She was christened in Shiplake Church where maternal Grandmother is also buried and went to school at Shiplake for 6th form.  What’s funny though, is that I believe the school that Jack works at, is a sporting rival of Shiplake! They wanted their day to be relaxed, fun and country chic (in fact, see if you can spot the little visitor t ..read more

Intimate weddings and elopements have certainly seen an increase over the past 12 months, partly in due to the circumstances but also as a rising trend amongst couples who want something a little more low key, but equally as beautiful and meaningful.  And it reminded me of a Paris elopement editorial shoot from a couple of years ago that I hadn’t got round to blogging! The story behind the shoot was a couple running off to the quaint streets of Paris to marry in the capital city of romance.  Our bride wore a beautiful Savin London gown and a classic and timeless look created by Team ..read more

How do I organise family photos on our wedding day? | A-Z of wedding photography

We’re up to the letter F on our A-Z of wedding photography, and with F comes families.  There is a part of every wedding day that probably ranks as the least favoured part of the day by couples and guests and it’s the group shots – and I think this stems from weddings years ago where traditionally there was a long list of group shots, taking up most of the time during the reception, meaning that guests can’t mingle and spend time properly with the couple. So how do you avoid this, and organise your family photos?  Here are my top tips:     Have helpers – by having designa ..read more

Notting Hill Blossom Engagement Shoot | London Engagement Shoot

London in the Spring is one of my favourite times of the year, the blossom comes out, the sun is shining and everyone seems happier, this has been especially the case this year as we come out of restrictions and what felt like a long winter as a result. Covid has had a lot to answer for, one of them being the missing of the blossom season last year, when we had so many shoots lined up with our couples, one of who was Hannah and Tom.  We had our plan, a blossom engagement shoot in Greenwich Park as they have an avenue of cherry blossom trees which is simply stunning…  And honestly, ev ..read more

An intimate wedding ceremony at Valentines Mansion

The first wedding of 2021 and I’m excited to share even just the smallest selection of sneak peek images from C&C’s intimate wedding ceremony at Valentines Mansion and it was so lovely to be back photographing a wedding, later into the year than is normal for us but a gorgeous start to the 2021 wedding season! The ceremony was, as can be expected for an April 2021 wedding, small, but perfectly formed with C&C’s immediate family and their cute baby son!  Of course there were the usual Covid measures in place we have become accustomed to at weddings for the time being, but the love ..read more

After my partner in crime’s take over of the happy hour blog in January it’s back to business as usual, with me… Hutch… here to talk to you about new cocktails. I say new, for those of you that watch us live each month this one may be familiar to you as it was the chosen cocktail for our guest in December, Natasha (Natasha Gulliford – a floral artist and textile designer). That cocktail was the Elderflower Collins; a refreshingly zingy classic with a fresh, floral twist. Whilst that might not sound like a very seasonal offering; I felt with Spring on the horizon and latest government announc ..read more

Hello! Now, if you’ve been on our blog before, much like albums, you’ll know how important we think engagement shoots are, so I’m going to dedicate the letter E in this series to purely talking about them, as well as linking to posts I’ve written before to give you some ideas for your own engagement shoot.         Why should I have an engagement shoot? Two reasons mainly – firstly, it’s an opportunity to celebrate the fact that you’re engaged, which in itself is an amazing time and part of your story as a couple.  This gives you the chance to focus ..read more

What a strange combination right, well, much like the letter C in the last post of this series, there was more than one thing that came to mind when I thought of the letter D. So today I’m going to talking to you about digital files, how to protect those images but also why you should also have physical copies of some of the images.
