This hazelnut latte is sweet and nutty with warm espresso, steamed milk and a dab of whipped cream for the perfect morning or afternoon treat. It’s easy to make at home, gluten-free and can easily be made vegan. This hazelnut latte is super simple to make and perfect for those days when you need something a little extra special. Here’s a look at what you’ll need. It’s not much! I go into detail about each ingredient below. Hazelnut syrup I just posted this Hazelnut Coffee Syrup, which we’ll use here, so if you haven’t whipped it up yet and don’t want to use store-bought syrup, now is the tim ..read more

Protein Pudding
Texanerin Baking - Healthier baked goods that don't taste healthy.

This protein pudding is no-cook, tastes just like traditional pudding, and can easily be made paleo or vegan. I’m SUPER excited to be sharing this recipe today! It really does taste exactly like real, actual pudding without any aftertaste from the protein powder as long as you use the protein powders I’ve tested this recipe with and that are recommended below. This protein pudding has more ingredients than some other recipes. But it also tastes WAY better. There’s no way that combining protein powder with one or two other ingredients is going to create something that actually tastes like pudd ..read more

Hazelnut Coffee Syrup

This hazelnut coffee syrup requires just hazelnuts, sugar and water and only takes 5 minutes of active prep! It’s also naturally vegan and gluten-free. I posted a recipe for Starbucks Oleato Copycat Iced Shaken Espresso yesterday which calls for hazelnut syrup. It’s easy enough to buy it, and the ingredients in Starbucks Naturally Flavored Hazelnut Coffee Syrup aren’t all that bad (in my opinion). It’s just potassium sorbate, natural flavor, citric acid, water and sugar. But if you do have an issue with those ingredients or simply don’t have access to it, here’s an easy recipe to make your own ..read more

Starbucks Oleato Copycat (Iced Shaken Espresso)

This Starbucks Oleato copycat is an iced shaken espresso that’s smooth and creamy with a subtle sweetness, a hint of hazelnut, and notes of warm, toasted coffee. You only need 4 ingredients and 5 minutes to make this at home before it hits the market. It’s also naturally gluten-free and vegan. Last week, I posted this Olive Oil Coffee recipe with a nod to the new Starbucks Oleato line. Today we’re taking it up a notch by adding hazelnut syrup with a lightly shaken espresso drink that’s refreshing and relatively healthy. Ingredients Slightly cooled espresso Hazelnut coffee syrup Oat milk (o ..read more

Matcha Brownies

These matcha brownies are gooey (or fudgy if you refrigerate them), full of matcha flavor and have a great natural green color. They can be made traditionally with all-purpose flour, with white whole wheat flour, or gluten-free and they also have a dairy-free option. If you’ve never tried matcha in baked goods, you might be a bit puzzled by all the matcha sweets I’ve been posting. Matcha desserts are surprisingly (to me, at least) tasty! I brought these matcha brownies to a BBQ last summer, and people were intrigued. “What are these? I need one!” I warned them that they’re kind of different, b ..read more

Olive Oil Coffee (Starbucks Oleato Copycat)

This olive oil coffee (Starbucks Oleato copycat) is smooth and creamy with a hint of nuttiness and a buttery finish. It’s a copycat you can easily make at home before it hits the market. It’s vegan but can be made with dairy if you prefer. Starbucks is making a buzz worldwide with its new line of Oleato lattes. It was released in Milan this week and is expected to hit the states in early spring. Oleato is late Latin meaning olive, and after Howard Schultz’s – the Starbucks CEO – trip to Sicily, the story behind adding olive oil to coffee began. There’s been a lot of uproar since the drink was ..read more

These paleo protein bars are no-bake, require minimal ingredients, and won’t lead to a sugar crash. They’re also vegan, as long as your protein powder is vegan. Here’s another quick and easy protein recipe. Like the Protein Cookie Dough that I posted recently, this recipe requires only a few ingredients and takes just a couple of minutes to make. Ingredients I go into detail about each ingredient below, but here’s an overview of what you’ll need. Nut or seed butter Protein powder Maple syrup Almond flour Chocolate Coconut oil What protein powder to use I was able to find two paleo protein p ..read more

Chai Tea Latte (Starbucks Copycat)

This chai tea latte is a Starbucks copycat that’s warm and comforting with chai spice and tea, maple syrup, and milk. It’s paleo and vegan but can easily be made traditionally as well. I hope you’ve been enjoying the healthy drinks I’ve been posting lately like this Matcha Protein Shake and these Turmeric Ginger Shots. It’s still terribly cold here, so here’s a hot drink to warm up with! Should it already be warming up in your neck of the woods, try this Iced Chai Latte. It’s simply an iced version of today’s recipe. :) Ingredients You only need 4 ingredients and boiling water to make this ..read more

Vegan Date Brownies

These vegan date brownies are no-bake, healthy, and are topped off with an optional avocado-based chocolate frosting. They’re also grain-free and date-sweetened, making them paleo, too. The Heart-shaped Chocolate Chip Cookies I posted earlier this week are great for Valentine’s Day, but they’re not at all healthy. So here’s a healthier choice! If you use a heart-shaped cookie cutter, you’ve got some nice vegan Valentine’s Day treats. For today’s no-bake recipe, you just toss everything into a food processor and process until it sticks together. And the frosting is also made in the food process ..read more

Pineapple Matcha (Starbucks Copycat)
Texanerin Baking - Healthier baked goods that don't taste healthy.

This pineapple matcha Starbucks copycat recipe tastes really similar to the real thing. It’s an energizing drink that’s naturally sweetened with 100% pineapple juice with a kick of ginger and topped with creamy coconut milk. It’s vegan and paleo and without all the preservatives, it’s actually healthy! It’s slightly caffeinated, too, so it’s energizing but won’t cause you to crash like coffee can. Because you’re actually drinking pulverized tea leaves, this drink is a superpower of healthy nutrients so it’s a guilt-free treat. I actually prefer this healthy version because I know exactly what ..read more
