I'm Whitney and this is my personal blog on all things lifestyle- beauty, fashion, food, and anything else I find interesting. I didn't discover the beauty of concealer, the wonder of eyeliner, and the luxe of a Dior lipstick until 19 years old and have been hooked on since. Apart from experimenting with beauty products, I like to dabble in fashion and post my outfits.

My social media has been snail paced lately…apologies…can I put the blame on growing a human being? Now that I have some time to myself pre-arrival of the baby; I would love to talk about skincare/haircare products while I still have time on my maternity leave!! Canadian brand, Clayton Shagal, has been part of my skincare routine (and body care too!) for some time.
I’ve used their original Milk Cleanser in the past; however, I’ve been just as pleased with their reformulated Milk Cleanser ($42) which contains Meadowfoam Seed Oil. To be honest, I typically do not need a strong cleanser as my s ..read more

Hello everyone, another year of sharing what is on this year’s gift guide for all things beauty. Recently, my focus has been more on skincare, body care, hair care – things that make me feel pampered and like having a spa day at home. What else is better than taking care of yourself, and gifting that idea to someone you love?

As I am getting older, I’m starting little luxuries in travelling. Given that the COVID-19 is not making international travel enticing, I splurged ion my hotel stay at a local trip to Whistler. My goal was to mainly relax while catching up on work. 2019 was my last Whistler visit where I stayed at The Westin Resort & Spa, which was very cozy and I liked having a kitchenette. I was leaning towards the Delta Hotels by Marriott Whistler Village Suites as I am a Mariott Bonvoy member. But after reading how the Fairmont Gold Lounge was opened again at Fairmont Chateau Whistler, that was the c ..read more

My wedding is only 3 months away and I have been upping my beauty routine as much as possible. Plumping, hydrating, brightening – I’ve been slapping on the best on my face. I can’t say the same about my workout and exercise routine though. My skincare game definitely has been elevated during the pandemic times and OKOKO Cosmetiques has been one of the highlights. Best of all; OKOKO Cosmetiques is found in my hometown Vancouver, BC and people can experience it first hand at L’Atelier OKOKO in Gastown!
OKOKO Cosmetiques, found by Oyeta Kokoroko, focuses on botanical ingredients and dedicate ..read more

I take really, really hot showers and sometimes when I come out, my foot is especially crazy itchy. We all have dry skin during the winter but the allergens that come up during the summer has made my skin extra parched. I received CeraVe Moisturizing Cream earlier this year and between constant hand washing and hay fever, and it has played a big part in my body care routine.
CeraVe products are developed by dermatologists and known for containing three vital ceramides – ceramides 1, 3, and 6-II. It also has hyaluronic acid and patented time-release MultiVesicular Emulsion Technology (MVE,) w ..read more

I’d so freakin love to be in New Zealand right now. But as fun travel is a huge no-no; I wanted to share a skincare brand that travelled here instead – Antipodes. As the world is trying to head towards a more sustainable future; Antipodes is a skincare brand setting an example. They are known as a Scientifically Validated Organic Beauty brand and all their bottles are recyclable. The cardboard packaging is made from sustainable forests and the ink printed is 100% eco ink from vegetables.
I received three global best sellers from Antipodes including:
Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream ($70 ..read more

Ever since the pandemic happened, I’ve become aware of more Canadian brands as more people are finding ways to support the local economy. Recently, La Maison Clayton Shagal was made known to be – and their skincare products are made here in Montreal! They have been a leader in skincare for more than 35 years and thy focus on high quality skincare that is tailored to your specific requirements. Also, cruelty free! My bunny likes this par the most.
I received a few products that targets dry and dehydrated skin. Being stuck in the same room almost 24/7 now; I can feel the moisture being sucked ..read more

I went to Ikea the other day and couldn’t decide, should I wear real pants or leggings? Do I even bother with makeup? Did I even brush my teeth? As time drags on, I really stopped giving a f about my public self image LOL. That being said, the self care never ends at home- I’ve upped my bath game and curl my hair for zoom meetings. My bathtub is lined with various different shower and hair products, including the newly launched Mario Badescu’s Rose Body Soap. Released in January 2021, this new rose body wash is here to enhance your shower experience to make you feel clean, hydrated, and smel ..read more

Happy Year of the Ox! Normally by Chinese New Year, I would’ve had new slippers, a haircut, and maybe some new clothes. However, this year’s Chinese New Year is looking a bit less festive as it used to be, due to no gatherings and all that. I will miss going to Aberdeen Mall with my mom, which is what I usually do every Chinese New Year and buy random fun things from the vendors that put up their stalls. However, a little festive gift did end up in my mailbox – Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex in Large-Size Red Bottle and the Lips in Bloom – Pure Co ..read more

First post of 2021 and hope everyone is doing well! Being at home all day is literally sucking the moisture out of me. My throat is dry and my hands are pruning from excessive handwashing. And to be honest, I barely wash my hair now. It’s so thick that it’s a pain to blow dry it. Most days my hair is like a shaggy looking forest except when I take out my Dyson Air Wrap to style it (it’s been a game changer for me since I got it!) But hair tools aren’t the only thing that can make my hair look prim and proper; I’ve been using Marc Anthony Maximum Moisture Hydra Lock Moisture Recharge Shampoo ..read more
