Best Books of the Year (so far) (Q1 2024)

I can’t believe we’re already so far into 2024. My reading goal for the year is 30 books but I might have to up that based on how fast I’m reading this year (15 books down at the time of writing). I know putting things in quarters is super business-y, but I thought it would be a good way to break down the year so far. First, an ode to StoryGraph One thing that I’d like to highlight about this year’s reading so far is that I’ve started to use StoryGraph a lot more compared to Goodreads. I started to use StoryGraph originally last year for a buddy read I did, but I found that the tracking was ..read more

It’s timmeeeeee! The One of a Kind Show is back to the Enercare Centre in Toronto from November 23 – December 3 2023. It’s seriously my favourite time of the year and I anticipate it every time! I had the immense pleasure to attend the media preview on November 23, the first day of the show. I was joined by Liz from @thechowstyle and we shopped up a storm! I had a great time as always and wanted to show you what I picked up! So I did quite a bit of Christmas shopping (which the show is absolutely perfect for). I’m not going to show you that stuff, but I first wanted to show you the stuff tha ..read more

Hey there! It’s been awhile, but I felt inspired to write this post after literally repurchasing this sunscreen because I’ve been loving it so much. I haven’t been wearing makeup too often, but when I do, it’s old reliable favourites. I saw this sunscreen on TikTok and wanted to try it. This was in the spring time? I’ve gone through a full tube this summer and this was very frequently the only face product I wore during this time. On to the review! Overview: A glowy sunscreen with skincare benefits. Price: $77 CAD (literal barf) Rating: 4.5/5 Rambling Review: Okay so let’s start off with the ..read more

Review: Luna Nectar Moon Boost Lash Serum and Mars Sand Dry Shampoo

Hi there! Okay I have a review of two products I’ve been trying for awhile. Luna Nectar, a Canadian based and woman founded beauty company, sent two of their products. Their biggest product is their Moon Boost Lash and Brow Serum. I also wanted to try the Mars Sand Dry Shampoo! Here are my thoughts on both products! About Luna Nectar Mia, the founder of Luna Nectar, wanted to create a company that was 100% natural, vegan and cruelty free. They company was actually created after Mia saw her sister using a hormone based lash serum that would sting her eyes and irritate her skin. The ethos of th ..read more

Review: Keys Soulcare Promise Serum and Radiant Eye Cream

Hello! I’ve had a couple of skincare things on the go, and I’m starting to get ready to share my thoughts! I was sent the Keys Soulcare Promise Serum and the Radiant Eye Cream to see what I thought. Keys Soulcare is an Alicia Keys skincare brand that apparently has been brought to life with the help of e.l.f? Yup, that e.l.f! This really surprised me! So without further ado, let me get into my thoughts. About the Brand So as mentioned, Keys Soulcare was created with Alicia Keys and Dr. Renee Snyder, a board certified dermatologist. The line isn’t massive but they have a couple of key skincare ..read more

Hello! As much as the pandemic around the world is unfortunately still present, there have been some glimmers of normality every now and then. I was able to go to the media preview of the One of a Kind show, one of the biggest craft and maker shows in the GTA. I also went this past weekend to really shop the show with my friend Maria. I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve gone to this show. They had to pause last year like the rest of the world, but they are back for the Christmas show. I have some tips and tricks along with what I picked up! So as exciting as I was to go to the show this y ..read more

Hello!! Hope you’re doing well! I recently took a small weekend trip with my sister in law to Thornbury/ Collingwood. I’m starting a new job soon and I had some time off between jobs. My sister in law was also off for March Break, so we decided to go on a small trip! We only stayed one night but I think we were able to get a lot done during that time! I wanted to share what we got up to. If you’re looking for a short stay-cation or a day trip, I would definitely recommend coming here! Drive Up The drive wasn’t too bad at all. We’re located in Toronto and it’s about a two hour drive one way. W ..read more

Haul: Made in Canada Planner Collab Sale
I'm Not a Beauty Guru

Hi there! A bit of a different post today! Something I’ve somewhat picked back up again is planning. I used to get the Ban.do planners which I loved, but found that I wasn’t using it all that much. This somewhat changed after starting to work from home and just not having to take a physical planner with me (room to room I can deal with!). I heard about the Always Fully Booked planner from Little Inklings Design and was luckily able to get a final run version. I’ve been using it to track my day to day along with just having it as a creative outlet. Anyways, I came across the Made in Canada Pla ..read more

Unboxing: Hushbug Book Box – February 2022

I have a very fun unboxing post today! One that I whipped up really quickly because I was so excited about it. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know I was looking into book subscription boxes. I thought this would be a breeze with many options available, but I was sorely mistaken. I could barely find any book subscription boxes that ship from Canada or were based in Canada. Like, what? We are in 2022! I was shocked! When I got a sponsored post advertised to me for Hushbug, I jumped! A subscription box from Toronto with a focus on romance novels? YES PLEASE! When those sponsored posts wor ..read more

Brand Collections: Tula Skincare

Hi there! I have a few new skincare items to write about today! I was sent three items from Tula by Influenster. I’ve briefly heard about this brand, maybe passed by it on social, but really haven’t looked much into it. I’ve been using these for about 3 weeks now, so I think it’s a good time for a review! Tula Skincare 24/7 Moisture Cream First up is I think their most popular product, the 24-7 Moisture Cream ($69 CAD). It’s a day and night cream that can be used for any skin type. I’ve been looking to get a really good day moisturizer so this was perfect to try. In general I can see why thi ..read more
