Love Stories: Toby
Wonder Dog Rescue

"We adopted Toby in January of 2019, just before the beginning of the pandemic. We already had one dog but knew we were looking for a laid back companion who could join us in the city at work on some days. Little did we know, we would be joining Toby as we worked for home for the next 18 months. Toby established his place in our household very easily and had no trouble making himself comfortable in our other dog's bed, and our own. Toby, like many Bostons, insists on sleeping under the covers with his head on the pillow every night. Though he's almost 10 now and has had some health issues ove ..read more

Love Stories: Cosmo

"Sweet Cosmo recently joined our pack of grey-faced howlers and we couldn’t be more excited. He made fast friends with all our dogs and they welcomed him with open paws. He spreads joy to whomever is fortunate enough to be in his presence. He isn’t shy about gently asking for snuggles, which is good because we love giving them! In his new home he is doted on by everyone throughout the day. Oh Cosmo, thank you for choosing us as your new family. We love you so very much!" ~ Natalie Send us your Wonder Dog Love Stories! Love Stories: Bella

"Bella, or Mia as you called her, is still alive and doing well considering her age.  She is an old dog now, probably 17 or so, and is close to passing. After a rough start some 15 years ago, she turned out to be the best dog. I can confidently say that she's had a great life with us. Trips, hikes, kids, a dog sister, etc... She is not sick, but suffers from dementia. We hope she stays with us as long as possible." ~Bojana Send us your Wonder Dog Love Stories! Love Stories: Sammy

"We adopted wonderful Sammy about 7 years ago from Wonder Dog rescue. Linda said “she is going to follow you everywhere, everyday, for the rest of your life.”  It’s so true. Sammy is the sweetest, funniest, and most charming dog. She loves long walks and long naps (preferably under the covers) and is the ultimate, ULTIMATE lap dog. She was a wonderful companion to our other rescue dog, Biscuit. She has brought my dad, me, any many others so much joy over the years. We are so grateful to WonderDog for rescuing Sammy years ago and giving her a new beginning. And we are even more grateful t ..read more

Love Stories: Hobie, Bibi & Toby
Wonder Dog Rescue
by Wonder Dog Rescue

We have been thrice blessed by Wonder Dog. The first time was in 2001. I was not interested in getting a dog, but my wife wanted one to keep her company as she works at home. Hobie, 7 at the time and a "dog of the streets", immediately nestled himself in our hearts. He changed our lives - we became "dog people". We enjoyed 7 blessed years with him. After months of mourning, we were approached by Linda about fostering a Boston Terrier that had been surrendered as the family added a new child. Bibi was a tough dog to bond with, but after a few days, we decided that we could take another dog in ..read more

Meet our newest farm resident, a senior pygmy goat named Patches! He was rescued from a home in Los Angeles after the family had to move from a ranch to a duplex. We are thankful to pilot Ken Wayne of KRON4 News and Flying Tails, who came to our aid when we needed someone to transport our sweet new goat to Petaluma Airport. ,Ken also featured Patches' rescue in a TV segment on KRON4! Ken also kindly made this amazing video about Patch's journey. https://youtu.be/mSkANgHneLo ..read more

Baby Roosters!!!
Wonder Dog Rescue

Wonder Farm Sanctuary Director, Sylvia, tells the story about our new baby roosters. The baby roosters came from a friend. They are bantams - satin silky and frizelle. The frizelle one is with the funny looking feathers. They were both born 4/19/20. No names of yet! We could use your name suggestions! Interesting features about them: • They have 5 toes, but normally chickens have 4. • They are smaller than standard size roosters, and their feathers are different than the standard chickens. • We can have 12 hens with 2 roosters since our roosters are smaller than standard.  ..read more

Love Stories: Wesley

"I’ll confess: Chihuahuas have never been my favorite breed of dog. They tend to be barky, and even aggressive. But after fostering four terrific Boston Terriers through Wonder Dogs, I decided to challenge my preconceptions. I took in TWO dogs, both Chihuahua mixes. Wesley was the smaller of the two, a pointy, foxy little boy who warmed up to me quickly and followed me everywhere. He barked a LOT — at people, at dogs, at the sound of a neighbor’s door, when I left, when I came home, at things out the window. I called him my little Mall Cop: wildly inflating the scope of his authority. After a ..read more

Love Stories: Gimli
Wonder Dog Rescue

My oldest daughter wanted her own dog. She said that she’d work, and she’d pay on her own. She had seen one, in particular, she knew had to be hers, and she began messaging Wonder Dog daily about him. Gimli (previously Shaggy) had been pulled from a hoarding situation. He was one of multiple parvo positive puppies, and one of only two that survived. It was weeks of back and forth waiting to hear if he would become ours. Weeks of obsessing over him, and looking again and again at his picture. Only my husband was unsure. Only he said “We don’t need another dog.” Finally the day came when we fou ..read more
