There is a young guy in the gym, that is training with old gloves. The coating of the glove is peeling. When we are partners in training, i got little pieces of the gloves peel into my eyes all the time. When we are sparring, when he hits me, the gloves scratches my face. Tonight i even got a small cut. The hit was not heavy. I talked with the guy, he tought I was joking and said he doesnt have money to buy a new glove… Im new where Im training now. Hello, I've been doing kick for about a year, and even though I'm not talented I still enjoy it. Lately I've felt that I was far too weak, I had no muscle/strength and the training I was doing wasn't helping, so I decided to sign up to the gym(I'll be honest, i also did it because I didn't like the way my body was and wanted to look better). But my friend told me that for martial arts weight training is not good since it makes you slower and less flexible. I was wondering, is that true? Do I need to do/avoid specific exercises? I just started training and because of my work schedule, I can only go to the gym every Saturday. I want to get better so I can start sparring. What equipment do you recommend I get? Right now I just jog around the block in the morning after I wake up, and I use the jumprope for a few minutes. I shadowbox when I can, but I'm thinking of getting a heavy bag and that's it, or do you think I need a double-end bag as well? Just wanted some feedback so I can build an effective gym at home. I have one but it’s just a small plastic one that sits in my boxes and doesn’t have a fixed position so it moves when I spar and fight. I haven’t really seen what many where as obviously they go under your shorts/ trousers but what should I look for.
