I was rolling a skein of yarn and left for a minute. My dog jumped up on the couch and it fell to the floor. Part of it looped around him and went for a ride. I now have a holy mess to untangle. Uggggh. submitted by /u/Pleasant-Emu-4294 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

My versions of the dreaded ranunculus (ranunculi?)

I avoided knitting the ranunculus forever. Then last October I was on vacation with downtime and some handspun in a color I couldn’t find love for ( lime green). Now I wear this a ton So I whipped out a short sleeve ranunculus in 14 days. I did use a smaller needle and did drastic waist shaping. Now I love this pattern. Green -handspun yarn Blue - sock yarn found at a thrift store held with mohair. I striped it because I was afraid I would run out of the sock yarn. Red - Drop Air. submitted by /u/piercesdesigns [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

A wonky but cute wip

I’m very much a beginner knitter having only made 2 beanies and a stitch sampler scarf before. Now I’m making a simple headband using purl stitches. My tension is not perfect and I’m pretty sure I twisted a few stitches along the way, but I love how it’s turning out! submitted by /u/prettygoodthanks_ [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Is the Emotional Support Chicken the new Ranunculus?

I’ve hidden the Ranunculus from my Ravelry search as it ALWAYS shows up high in the list. I got tired of seeing it and was thrilled to discover I could hide specific patterns and designers (DROPS, I’m looking at you!). Lately, I’ve noticed the ESC shows up on the first page consistently. Like, for months. It does seem to have a lot of attached projects, so maybe it really IS that popular? Ultimately, I don’t really care either way. If I get too annoyed by seeing it, I’ll hide it. Thoughts on the ESC? submitted by /u/invisiblegirlknits [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

My first finished knitted toy!! The original pattern calls for knit stitch, but I started this a long time ago last year when I was still only comfortable with the garter stitch. The pattern is on Etsy, I think he turned out super cute!! submitted by /u/Neither-Meeting-4491 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I just knit my first sock with a peasant heel. I've knit two pairs of top down socks before, but Jesus, this is so much easier. What's the drawback? Why use a heel flap? submitted by /u/rooroosterchips [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
