How many tracks do you think top tier producers make a month?

My guess is that it strongly depends on the producer but I'm curious what you think. Does it go in tens a month? I saw Obscure Shape's post the other day and he posted like 7 snippets of his non-techno tracks that he made like last week? So I imagine he makes at least a few complete techno tracks every week and decides which to drop out of his catalogue. submitted by /u/LEXN_Beats [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Less punchy, muddier sound after export
Techno Production | Reddit

Hello all, I have a question and I couldn't find a definite answer here. I am building an intro out of 2 tracks, and it sounds great within the DAW (Ableton 11), but when I export it sounds really different - muddier and way less punchy. I thought media player is causing it, but the original track sounds great there too. There is no additional processing except an EQ8 on the first track, and a limiter with a -6db ceiling on master, because it was redlining. What could be it? submitted by /u/FlushBg [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

909 / RD-9 and Ableton

Hi all, I've watched so many videos of the 909 and RD9, with a really full sound. Sounds gritty, but not distorted as far as I can tell (Similar to Planatery Assault Systems). What's the secret here? Plenty of saturation and compression? submitted by /u/gavcee15 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

1.2GB of loops free download, no strings attached

This year I got back into production after over 15 years. I made plenty of loops so I can jam in Ableton for my own pleasure. They may be the shittiest sounds you've ever download, since my music never existed outside of my cheap speakers, and I have no connections for objective criticism. But they are free and you can listen them and download individually here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1LlBC33LA-CMuRMVWk_16Gpe2sO-vt58Q?usp=sharing I also recorded a session in Ableton, I think about half of those loops are used in the mix, maybe more... I would really appreciate any constructive ..read more

Sequencing Operator

I‘m currently very inspired by abletons operator device, especially for making pluck sounds and percussion. It made me wonder wheter you guys use any creative techniques for sequencing this synth, especially in terms of including the filter, Lfo and pitch envelope of the device. Thanks in advances! submitted by /u/pacolinoo [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Strymon Nightsky or VST?

I can get a Strymon Nightsky for my Microfreak + Digitakt + Minitaur setup, but i’m doubting if I shouldn’t use the money for something else and keep using vst on post-recording. Is there any big good point about having an external reverb (not thinking about live because is not in plans) for music production? Other uses of my money could be: Mixer (currently mixing in digitakt) Drum-machine (tr-8 ot mfb tanzmaus) Behringer pro 800 submitted by /u/Altruistic_Cause_460 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Any tips on recreating synths in Danilo Incorvaia - Kong?

I can handle the drums, but I cannot get anywhere close with the synths. Especially that layer with (sounds like) a lfo on resonance. I have no idea how to get this sound. The other layer that sits beneath the "morphing one" seems to be two saw waves with their fine tuning spread apart. Could anyone help? This track is absolutely sacred for me, I'll probably listen to it until I die lol submitted by /u/LEXN_Beats [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Is this a sampled synth/how to produce

Howdy y’all, here’s a great set of tracks but I’ve noticed this discordant synth sound in a lot of tracks. Seems like Alarico, I think Benza, and a fair number of others I can’t remember off the top of my head have this exact synth sound at 2:00 on the first track. Is this a sample or just a saw with a 0 and a +6 semitone chord with chorus and maybe reverb? It just sounds so similar across a lot of tracks. submitted by /u/No_Gur_1232 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
