What would happen or what benefits are there if two military couples get married?

Greetings beautiful people, today I came up with an idea of nowhere that happens if a couple decides to enter the airforce together as boyfriends and then get married, what benefits or cons would that have, would it be difficult for them to be on the same base? The military benefits would be allocated to only one of the two or the benefits would be given to each one separately or together.. I would be very grateful for your help. submitted by /u/I5SY [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Just bitching, got notified of assignment way in advance. Got all the documents in order, turned into mpf. Made it to afpc well before the 120 days prior to pdd they authenticate orders from. Now approaching 90 days from and still sitting at afpc “3-5 duty days” why post the timeline on vmpf if it doesn’t mean anything. Just say they will be done when they are done submitted by /u/Enough_Platypus5475 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Search for AFI or Regulation from 2013-2016

I am in search for the old regulation that stated LOC’s in PIF (not UIF) could 1) be removed after x amount of months (I believe 6) and 2) could be removed by your supervisor. Note: it is NOT AFI36-2907 because the version from that time frame does not have 2.4.6, it stops at 2.4.4. Thank you! submitted by /u/IncidentAdept7251 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello, Just wanted to know if it is a glitch within the automated PCS mandatory mover cycle to put the same base back to back cycle? I have seen it in Jan cycle and now April. Is that something that the AFSC functional needs to fix manually or heh just didn’t match the previous same billet? Thanks submitted by /u/Boring-Egg-4472 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Changed some details to protect his ID: Maybe you guys can help me out here… He joined in 05 as CCT with the initial goal of getting out after an enlistment or two. He made staff in 2012, got married, had a kid and decided he wanted to do the full 20 to get a pension. In 2016 the AF removed TIG and TIS points for promotion and introduced course 14/15 and he felt like he wasn’t going to make tech because CCT is a pretty small career field. Also, he was tired of TDYs, deployments, and never seeing his family and with the course 14/15 stuff piled on to the CCT stuff he was getting overwhelmed, s ..read more

If you could change one thing in Air Force policy, what would it be?

Pretty straight-forward question. For me, I’d change promotions to be AFSC-driven only. Force Distribution & BTZ would occur within the career field at the MAJCOM level, then WAPS would go to final board in a similar fashion that we have now. I do like that we have boards comprised of different AFSCs in the same career group because I feel like it offers more insight to overall Air Force needs in the higher enlisted ranks, but I see no reason different AFSCs within the same squadrons and groups should be competing for FD & BTZ. The longer I’ve been in, the more inequity I see and how ..read more
