Mom is in heaven.
She was the greatest encourager of my entire life.
I grew up actually believing she was a perfect person. I got my strength from my mom.
I learned loyalty by watching my mom.
She taught me how to celebrate life.
The picture of Mom & me was taken Mother’s Day, 2016.
The picture of Gina and my Mom was taken this year on Mother’s Day.
The two most beautiful ladies in my entire life.
My Mom was healthy all her life so everyone was in shock when we heard the news.
On August 20 she was told, “you have a mass, and it’s metastasized”.
She passed away September 20.
I took her to ..read more

My Father and me
Happy Father’s Day to all of you dads!
If you have a good father like me, we celebrate with you today.
If you had a bad example for a father, hold on just a minute …
Brokenness gets passed down.
Wounds are rarely acknowledged in Fathers, therefore they are rarely healed.
But we can break the generational curse with God’s help by just rising up.
My dad was my hero. He still is.
He was the first man in my life that I wanted to emulate.
And what I really wanted is for him to be proud of me.
My first recollection of my father was riding him piggyback, pretending to be asleep.

Dear friends and family,
We have a message from our good friend Claudette Chenevert (@stepmomcoach), a coach for stepmoms and a stepmother herself.
Her message is below – we hope you enjoy it!
Today is Stepmother’s Day.
And I’m celebrating this day by doing nothing. By that, I mean, I plan on reading a book (I’m in Agatha Christie these days,) enjoy a nice glass of wine with Bernard and play a few rounds of Yahtzee.
Stepmother’s Day is for you to commemorate being a stepmom, if you feel like honoring this role.
I know that being a stepmom may not be something you feel like being g ..read more

In our last blog I mentioned Dominique Flores, pictured after he won the three point competition last year while at the Band of Brothers Bootcamp.
Quite interesting timing, since I’m at the Band Of Brothers again today as this blog goes out. Another interesting thing about God’s timing: my wife Gina challenged a group of us to write down the last seven days of our prayer life. Within hours of doing so, Dominique sends me an article he wrote reinforcing the exact same thing!
Here is Dominique’s article below. Be encouraged, be challenged, and definitely after you read his article don ..read more

Gina and I have been spending the past 40 days going through Mark Batterson’s book “Draw The Circle” with our team and since finishing it, I wanted to share some personal insights.
Two important points: I am not elevating me, or my testimonials whatsoever. I am only elevating our Lord Jesus Christ who died for me, paid for all my sins and it is for His glory that I share. Number two, it was my wife Gina – not myself – who was impacted first. I have told her more than once I have seen how God spoke to her, then added me and we see this multiplying to others.

Dear friends and family,
Good Friday can seem like anything but “good”.
My friend and pastor said a few minutes ago at the 12 noon service that we tend to rush to Easter Sunday and fail to stop on Friday. I agree; I think it’s good for all of us to stop – to stop and mourn in a godly, healthy way.
When I reflect on this day, entitlement leaves me. Selfishness leaves me. Earthly concerns leave me.
What gets replaced is a larger view of God. A smaller view of self. And it’s a good feeling.
It’s been said our problem in America is our “view of God is too small and view of self is too big ..read more

Dear friends and family,
I met a couple of guys today for breakfast, Doug and Charlie. I was there to do a learning luncheon – you might say a learning breakfast – with men who are older and wiser. Do you do that?
Two weeks ago I ran into Doug, with his buddies Rod and Charlie, by accident at the same restaurant. Doug overheard me say my former job was at NCR and he spoke up at the end of my breakfast, introducing himself. We actually worked at the same office on Live Oak Street! Another God wink…
Rod looked familiar. So I asked, “Rod, you look familiar… Have we met?” Quick as a whip ..read more
